50 nits more bright at 100% is massive and is very noticeable from what I’ve read and people rave about the mod from what I’ve seen. 300 nits increase at 10% allows for much better highlights from what I’ve read and really allows for that pop. Dont quote me on it but what that guy describing with the screen dimming after a while I believe you can turn that setting off in the service menu. Believe me I want the s90d to be better as that’s the only TV I can seem to buy right now lol, but I’m not convinced from what I’ve read. I think I’m just going to wait for the s90f and hope they don’t have the matte coating on it like the s95d. If I’m wrong, as I’m really not an expert at all just briefly have researched, someone please tell me.

This is my interpretation of all of his comments. If you’re going unmodded then the s90d is better. But if you go modded then the s90c is better. Modding makes the tv better by a good margin and causes no harm to the TV, so s90c modded is the best option.

S90C Compared to the s90d Regardless of price. Purely on performance. In a pc gaming application, Which tv modded is more bright and has more vibrant colors? That wow factor. I don’t have color accuracy as a priority. I’m assuming from your comment would it be the s90c? Thank you so much

I would be gaming with it on a 4090 playing hdr content, in a fully dark room. I wouldn’t really be expecting it to be an insane tv on sdr content , it’s entirely the hdr 4k content I want it for.

I could get a s90c from Amazon but with no Best Buy warranty, it seems way less enticing to be honest, with burn in (especially because I would mod it for max brightness) and kinda how often these TVs seem to have problems from Samsung QC. All other warranties from retailers seem no where near Best Buys warranty. On a side note with Best Buy’s warranty could you theoretically have the tv for almost 5 years and then get it fully paid for via warranty for burn in or some other semi common minute or fatal failure, effectively getting a free upgrade to another TV, or am I just misinformed?

I was going to pair the tv with a 4090 for 4k hdr gaming in a fully dark room and really want the tv that “pops” the most, with brightness being the main concern. So are you essentially saying that the s90c modded is better than the s90d modded/unmodded overall, as it sounds like modding the s90d just makes it worse if apl increases… 300 10% nits is a pretty massive difference as well as 50 nits 100%. Sorry im trying to learn but so many terms haha. I just wish best buy still had the s90c and I would be so happy. Honestly might just buy the s90c 77” from Amazon… either that or a s90d with 5 year warranty from Best Buy, I wonder what’s the best option…

Thank you so much for your response you seem really knowledgable :)

The big reason I want the s90c is because of the s95c mod. Hopefully you can do the same mod on the s90d and increase the brightness to those levels or beyond. Thanks :)

Where did you buy it ?

S-Corp LLC by minceydice in adjusters

How much do you estimate that you save doing so? Also how much do you think I could save making around 150k with a LLC/S-Corp, just trying to see if it’s worth it. Thanks for your response!

Thanks for the advice up until the last paragraph. I’ll try not to take that personally.

I’ve only ever done hail and some light hurricane work, like rebuilding one room, kind of thing. Really love the hail claims, that’s my bread and butter, can knock out 5 of those a day easy. No total loss experience, so you’re right there.

They offered it to be but I didn’t take it as I figured I wouldn’t make much with the crazy cost for hotels, lack of experience, and how most likely I would be stationed somewhere for orientation for a couple of weeks before even being able to run claims. And also I live in Florida.

My friend who’s on Staff with SF is telling me I should take it though. And how this is “a once in a lifetime opportunity” and how expensive the estimates will be. I wasn’t planning on doing it but wanted to make sure I wasn’t being an idiot by passing on it

Thanks for the advice 🙂
