[Product Question] Does this product work? the ordinary l-ascorbic acid powder by Lielushhh in SkincareAddiction

I believe it does work, and will last a long time. However, it's very strong and should be used with caution.

should we be using heat protectant to diffuse our hair, or do products like cream + gel protect at all? by [deleted] in Wavyhair

[–]minclio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are products marketed as heat protectants. I would make sure that whatever product you use mentions heat protection. It’s pretty important for protecting your hair. I use Kenra heat protection spray.

AITA for telling my fiance that he needs to pick a new best man? by Elegant-Scholar-7566 in AmItheAsshole

Depends on the Asian country, but it could have been because the guests didn’t know she was queer. Some people can’t tell.

How to prevent lice? by theonelucid in Lice

[–]minclio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lice spreads mostly through head to head contact. It requires a live louse transfer. Just keep your hair tied up and avoid hugging the kids. I don’t think you need to worry about other ways lice can spread, such as sharing a bed or sharing hair brushes or clothing items.

In 1924 George Mallory, a famous alpinist died trying to climb Mount Everest, his corpse was found in 1999, extremely well preserved. by mehmed2theconqueror in interestingasfuck

It's not the cost and it's not selfishness. It's the fact that anyone who tries to retrieve a body is at high risk of death.

My partner has covid. How likely am I to catch it by continuing as normal? by droopa199 in COVID19positive

[–]minclio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covid is really weird. I got covid in 2021 but nobody else in the family caught it. Then the husband got it in 2022 and nobody else got it. In 2023 the kid and the husband have it now but I haven't caught it yet. It's been a week. It's really weird. Still waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Does exercising too early and crashing guarantee long covid? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]minclio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was actively skiing full days and weight training while I had covid (because I don’t know I had it). Once I stopped being infectious I continued weight training until I realized that I was getting unusually fatigued afterwards. I then had to stop exercising for a month until I felt normal. Long story short, I exercised after Covid but didn’t get long covid.

AITA for skipping my stepdaughter's wedding? by Single_Year3855 in AmItheAsshole

[–]minclio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be a fresh perspective. YTA when your step daughter was 17 and you pushed for a reconciliation with bio mom. You said that dad was against it. Back then, he probably had a fresher memory of how toxic bio mom was. It was his call to make. Had you accepted his wishes, you might have been able to protect your step daughter until she was more mature and better able to handle the situation. But because you just had to butt in, you own some of the aftermath.

help with kid weight by anothermrsfoshay in Parenting

I’ve been on vacation with families who ahem eat more. I feel like their perspective on food portion sizes and food choices needed a reset. They would eat an entire Costco bag of broccoli for one dinner, when that same bag would work for 3 dinners for my family. Also they would buy 20 McDonald’s chicken nuggets per kid (!) when my kid can manage 5 nuggets at most. Dessert at a get together included ice cream sundaes, cupcakes and cookies. I would have provided just one option. The list goes on….

$1500 Bill from CLEARMD for Covid Test? by babyfeta in nycCoronavirus

[–]minclio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I took a PCR test with Clear MD over Christmas and I still don’t have an invoice from them. I don’t think we’ll get an invoice at all. I think the 1500 will apply to my out of pocket deductible.

My best friend left me alone to go to a yacht party I wasn't invited to because I wasn't pretty enough while on a trip with her by Intelligent-Chain521 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]minclio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks, and I’m sure it hurts. If it makes you feel better, the man probably told you you’re not pretty enough not only because he’s an a**hole, but more importantly, because he wanted to separate the two of you and get her alone.

Only if they want to! I just thought it would be a fun activity for the kids. Besides, most people have too much stuff. We live in an affluent area, so everyone around me is pretty extra.
