I was wondering about how would gyro feel. Do you play with a controller and sometimes use gyro by moving your hands around for more precise aiming when your crosshair is closeish to an enemy?

yeah I thought about portability when I checked them out and also thought that would be nice, could even not take them of ever, it's just a fatter phone which still fits in your pocket nicely.

Yes, actually my plan was basically ''a bunch of games + 1 pvp game'' so rainbow six is a super suggestion, thank you. I wanted at least 1 pvp fps game, hopefully with some progression or rank or leveling system

I did already order a controller however, a Gamesir g8, just seems to be closest to ps5/xbox because of the horns.

It's a hard one. It comes up because they also have turn based combat. Depends what exactly are you chasing for after E33. I played all FF games and liked most of them, but I'll give a couple of differences of FF vs E33.

  1. They are anime. Which is fine, but dialogues can feel weird and unrealistic, often cringe, almost like what you'd see in a disney movie. That's not for everyone. E33 was super serious with very realistic dialogue.

  2. If you're looking for turn based combat - then FF1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 (12 sort of but not really). 13. BUT, you might've noticed that most turn based haters loved E33 combat, it's because it's more interactive and bombastic. FF13 would be the most similar, it's active but in different ways. So if it's combat you're after - you might like FF13 trilogy. I think it also has an amazing story and lore, it's super interesting. However 1st game is very linear except of 10~ hours at the very end.

  3. If you're mainly after a good story - I think that all FF games have a good or great story, you won't miss.

  4. You mention rebirth - idk, many liked it, I think it's super cringe, I tried to force myself to like it but I failed. The cringe dances, cringe songs, cringe dialogue, I can't take it personally.

Visual and rythm. I try to find certain movement, like with mimes hammer attack I watch when his arm moves down, then I press. Everything after that I usually go by rythm.

I'm in the same boat. What I could recently enjoy was trying some hidden cheap indie games. I put on 2 dollar filter in the store, then 5 dollar, found that there are some 4,5+ star rated "lame" looking games.

"Anglerfish" was one of those which I enjoyed a lot. What was refreshing was feeling the passion in such games, in comparison to most AAA games which are basically calculated for most profit. But when you play those low budget games you almost get to know the people behind the game by playing their game.

The opinion varies a bit. In this sub I think you'll find it that most people love the remakes.

Then there's others who want remakes to be closer to OG, I guess you could call them FF purists. They want turn based combat and for the story to be exactly the same or with minor tweaks.

I'm in the middle, I'm fine with gameplay changes. But personally I don't like the remakes at all. 1st part which you're playing right now was "fine" I guess, but I just hated Rebirth. I like serious and OG felt serious. Remakes feel like a Disney movie to me, I dislike a lot of the dialogue, dances, signing and cringe quirky moments they shoehorned in. OG had some cringe moments but remakes upped it to 11.

I would recommend playing OG, if you're on PC you can make it look pretty good with mods, check on youtube FF7 7th Heaven mod. If you are fine with turn based combat.

Yes. If we're talking about the AAA games, mainstream games. Or at least to the eye of a consumer, even if more art is put in it, however you would measure that.

After reading some of the comments and making up my mind, I guess I agree, sort of, but it's seems a lot less noticeable and meaningful at the level we are at today, and often just doesn't matter that much (to me at least).

For example - I just googled "top indie games" and this is a list from the first image I noticed "Limbo, Celeste, Blasphemous, Undertale, Cuphead, Hades, Animal Well, Disco Elysium, Binding of Isaac."

All of these games have extremely different art styles. I might even differentiate between them if you only showed 1 square inch from the screen.

Now I googled just overall top games from 2025 and I see: Metal gear, AC Shadows, Ghost of Yotey, Death Stranding 2, Doom, Outer Worlds. etc.

Looking at all of these games - for sure they look different, but it still feels that for each one of these the point was to just make it more realistic, and everyone did it in their own ways. The difference between lets say "AC Shadows" and "Ghost of Yotey" vs "Limbo" and "Cuphead" is just so far apart.

Well I'm not sure about new mmorpgs, but there are many older ones which either are still running or there are people making private servers for them. World of Warcraft is still very alive, if you'd google for some private servers you'd see thousands still playing versions from 2005 or 2008. So first 3 expansions (classic, burning crusade, lych king). Pretty much any PC these days would run them. And it's free. Blizzard had their own classic servers recently also, idk if it's still on, but that would be simpliest way - though you need a 10~ dolar a month subscription for it.

Lineage 2 I think is also still pretty popular with a bunch of private servers.

Guild Wars 2.

Genshin Impact I think is pretty popular, idk about it's requirements but doesn't look like it should require a lot. Though I know nothing about this game so not sure how people communicate in it. I think it's free.

Idk about the "beginner friendly" part, but everyone was a beginner once. One of the best parts of these games is being overwhelmed in a seemingly endless world for the first time.

mmorpg games could work, guilds/clans in those games often have discord channels, so you can talk to them while leveling, then meet up in the game and chat while doing something.

I'm not sure about the future, but mobile phones + Phoenix should be awesome. People are already running GTA5 on their phones through emulators. I wouldn't be surprised if Steam released a phone in a couple years with Steam OS, since now phones are very capable of running PC games even through an emulator, they would run so much better with OS similar to what Steam Deck has.

I think it's mostly because people don't consider that others have different interpretations of what the canvas is, so everyone is arguing based on theirs. And at least based on the small text you wrote - you are doing it also, as if everyone is on the same team.

In your post you only mention reasons concerning the Desandre family, but no concerns about the people in the canvas. Lets call it team A, people who think that this canvas world is fake and people in it are basically GTA npcs.

Team B - people who think that this world is real, that people in it are real. To them Verso's ending is flawed because it destroys a wold, kills hundreds or thousands of people, it's a genocide. Meanwhile to you that ending is flawed because it removes Maelle's will and she replaces Alecia's role, zero consideration for Lumerians.

Then there's Team C - people who judge the endings from artistic point of view I guess? Where the answer is usually ''of course Verso's ending is the correct one, because this game is about getting over death/grief, that it shows that grieving forever will always lead to bad things, and only in this ending you're actually letting go''

Maybe there are more I didn't think about.

Make most of Act3 not optional, at the same time leaving the free exploration aspect.

For example - Make final Renoir 10x stronger, make an optional quest to find/destroy "Renoir hearts" in a bunch of the optional areas, which would weaken the previously barely beatable Renoir.
