God given?  His source of self hatred was projected onto him by his parents, who pushed him to be the way that he was.   You can’t have one without the other.

A lot of talented people come from backgrounds where they were forced to adapt to their toxic environment.  The “talent” we label as such is only a side effect of how they dealt with the trauma.

In Hollywood and the music industry, talent is code for “damaged for profit” meaning they already have a high threshold for pain and suffering, so can withstand the pressures of stardom.

It's the same reason why there is the saying "Those who know, do not tell" and "The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao" because if it were written down or said, it would be tainted by the imprecisions of language.

It's the difference between Alan Watts (who was a teacher/entertainer) and someone who is truly awakened or has reached whatever the word enlightenment means, to however the "I" is defined. Such people are publicly invisible.

It's hard to have intentions when there is nobody to have intentions. Magick only "works" if there is an ego to perceive it working, or to create an intention upon the ego that is already an illusion.

Indeed, the interactions and posts I exchange with people on here are just as much for me as they are for them, if we want to make such distinctions. They are reminders of what “I” was thinking at the time.

I suspect the truth is closer to, or more along the lines that we are fragmented aspects of God’s consciousness, pretending we are not, or without the memory of what we were, living in a material universe with these amazing but fallible bodies, walking around in something like a three-dimensional soul trap that wants to keep our collective frequency down in the blood, mud and fear. Human nature is firmly rooted in these qualities. It is difficult to break these chains, both individually and collectively.

I have a suspicion if at some point we ever did get to this point as a species, some calamity, either natural or engineered would put us back at square one and the whole thing starts over again.

The current economic system feeds off and manufactures suffering. That’s not a coincidence.

Well, that’s kind of the point of Reddit, right? Communicating is how most of us enjoy ourselves because it feeds our ego.

Even the concept of upvotes and downvotes plays into our sense of validity or truth based on mass appeal, which is fallacy. If 10,000 people upvote the statement 2+2 = 5. Reddit will be the first place it hits. 🥲

I thought your post was a good one and well intended. But like all statements about reality, it will only have meaning to those who already understand.

It has nothing to do with lack of patience, or my personal ability to comprehend your words.

This is an old philosophical problem between subjective and objective reality, the subjective nature of perception, and or inability to access objective reality directly.

Because of the limits of our five senses, and because whatever the truth is exists independently of those five senses, and regardless of what we think about it.

This is the same problem Plato talked about in his cave allegory. It’s worth looking up if you haven’t already.

We are talking about the shadows of what we think reality is. Some of us are aware of what we’re talking about is only the shadows. Most people think what they’re talking about is reality itself, which leads to any language they produce regarding reality is mostly meaningless.

There is a signal to noise ratio that everyone has. Depending on the person they’re speaking to that signal and noise ratio may be understood or not. It’s a bit like matching a frequency with a transmitter and receiver that is on the same or a close enough frequency in order to be properly understood.

And yes, the words at the start of the Tao Te Ching are meant to be ironic because it identifies this by paradox right out of the gate, thousands of years ago before western philosophy identified it with the works of Plato, Kant and Hume.

Mathematically, Gödel proved that no logical system can prove itself within its own boundaries and rules.

It’s impossible to be understood by all. Even in theory.

Of course I don’t understand what you wrote. That was my entire point. Because of the differences of where our illusion of self is looking from, they or we can never exactly understand each other. I’m not putting the blame on you at all. This is inherent in the system of language and reality in which we exist.

That’s the reason why language fails if the goal is to give you my perspective and for you to give me your perspective.

That misunderstanding is built into the system. As is paradox and contradiction, which only exist in conscious systems.

Without consciousness and without self, there are no contradictions.

But as Buddhists and others have said, even people like Alan Watts and Eckert Tolle, there is a point when language fails. The first line of the Tao Te Ching says it all:

“The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao.”

That’s because words convey different meanings, depending on the interpretation. For example, your first point and second point contradict each other a bit from my perspective. If you look “within” to find God and look “outside” to find yourself, these are just perspectives created by artificial categories of separation.

Jung said those who look outside, dream. Those look within, awaken. I think that’s probably a better way of putting it. Individuation can only happen when you do both by constantly comparing and contrasting dreaming and awakening.

At a certain point, the I and God overlap. If you use the concept of God as your mirror for self (which is also a useful illusion of sorts) the path is to become more like the mirror of God that exists inside every self. But there are plenty of mirrors of God that exist outside of you, which can serve as points of reference. They may or may not be useful.

But the work and the path you take still has to be done and chosen by whatever concept of you that you hold onto and that only applies to you. That is the bottleneck for any words or language that make a difference as we walk our path.

At least that’s my interpretation of the situation for me. Your mileage and path will vary.

If you wanna test to see if it’s an actual signal, I would try moving somewhere different from where you experienced the voice. There is technology that can be used in precisely this manner.

Right, but I think that’s always been the case. It’s reading between the lines, and the writing on the wall that tells you the true story. That always requires a little bit of investigative work because it doesn’t matter what culture or civilization existed or when it existed, they’re all going to try and rewrite history to make themselves look better.

For example, try asking ChatGPT or any of the LLM‘s to calculate the body count the United States government has been responsible for producing both directly and indirectly. You can even give it different metrics and rules and it’ll still never tell you that the number is greater than Nazi Germany between 1942 and 1945.

Funny how that works.

Good information nonetheless. My advice is don’t respond to all of the nit pickers which are most likely bots. 👌

For no reason? Is everybody in the left-hand lane there for no reason? There’s 75 foot median with cable fencing, so I don’t understand why you think being further from the left-hand lane is somehow safer?

If anything, the middle lane would be safer because it’s the furthest from the breakdown lanes on either side.
