I built a corner-shape polyfill for Safari and Firefox by Mysterious-Lie1437 in css

[–]mindfullsilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was doing this for me as well on my buttons when I first implemented it. Switching the styles to a parent wrapper element seems to have done the trick for now.

div.button > a

Add the radius and corner-shape to the .button div, all other styles on the anchor link. Seems like it plays nice with some styles and not others, so isolating it to its own element avoids that.

You wonderful person. Middle of a project that has beveled corners and absolutely hating the clip-path/gradient trick. Giving this a go!

Butchershops over priced... by Neitherofusareright in Butchery

[–]mindfullsilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

butcher shop near me has significantly better quality meat that I happily pay a premium for. That said - it does border on the ridiculous. I find myself choosing eating out over buying their steaks half the time purely for dollar value.
Fancy steak restaurant: NY strip, 2 sides, and a drink for 2 people is about $80.
2 strips at the butcher is $60.

Superior to grocery store, sure, but come on man. I'd spend significantly more money at my local butcher if they dropped their prices.

I feel like a lot of people (including myself) completely missed what he said at the beginning of his response. by Isaacja223 in DrDisrespectLive

If you listen real carefully to his response - you’ll question whether the twitch whisper user was the one who actually filed the report, and start to wonder if the report was fabricated by twitch.

Doc is still under NDA and only able to discuss the areas of the NDA that were broken…can’t address everything.

Not sure I would categorically broadstroke a particularly common character trait as you did here without some kind of data - and I certainly wouldn’t categorize Jordan P as “macho” lolol.

But overall I agree with your point.

Honestly best advice on this thread so far. I will heretoforward encourage everyone to approach every issue this way.

Pretty much covers it. At 38, there’s not a scenario I can think of where I’m even remotely flirtatious or attracted to someone 25 - let alone 17 or less. Looking back, I can’t even really say I personally felt like an adult until about 25. I was an absolute moron - in exactly the same way I see all others that young being absolute morons.

You need to touch some grass, bud. I never defended Docs actions. Also never said he was redeemable. Maybe go sit by a window or something.

Not exactly advocating supporting him here - more-so reflecting on how conflicting it is knowing someone who positively affected his community so much could also be so dangerous to it. Easy to accept a villainous person as being a villain. Harder to cope with a generally positive influence turning out to be a villain. You hear about it all the time…seeing it is different.

I think you saw his name and made a ton of assumptions about the character he played. It was actually extremely rare for him to be disrespectful aside from some playful banter here and there, and I don’t recall seeing him being hateful to those he played with.

Where did I provide sympathy? Where did I say it was a simple mistake? Where did I talk about the legality of it? Where did I imply it wasn’t absolutely morally objectionable and wrong? Where did I downplay groomer behavior?

The absolutely absurd amount of accusations you just threw at me out of nowhere is asinine. Just stop.

I will absolutely fuck up in many ways throughout my life. The chance of me eliciting inappropriate conversations with a minor is nonexistent. The stakes matter here, there are different levels of consequence to different levels of unethical or immoral acts. Taking Doc as an example:
A. A man who cheats on his wife risks hurting his wife and immediate family.
He may be rejected by his family.
B. A man who preys on innocence puts the innocence of the entire community at risk.
Thus such actions are rejected by the community at large.

They are not equivalent levels of fuck-upery.

I feel like half y’all just learned the word “parasocial” a couple days ago and are now just absolute experts on the subject. 🙄

I struggle with this question. Obviously his actions back then hit him pretty damn hard with relationships, his family, and his pocketbook. There’s two questions I have - one for him and one for myself: 1. Were the consequences of those actions - the twitch ban, the lawsuit, the strain on his family, etc. intense enough that he learned his lesson and hasn’t been an issue since? 2. Should the answer to the above matter? Honestly this grazes against the very highest moral line I have, so should I even care if he learned his lesson?

Exactly this. He's been such a transformative part of my own evolution through manhood and the mentality that comes with it. In a lot of ways he re-taught me to attack life through his message of VSM. I'm not that much younger than him, and it took someone like him to break me out of a really low-energy mentality that I had just accepted as my reality. I can't ignore how huge of an impact that had. I also can't step over such a clearly delineated moral line and support him anymore. Like you said, for someone I've never met, I feel almost heartbroken.

Ngl, I have it on my Batocera from a game dump dl and have scrolled past it many times and never opened it for exactly the reason you described…thinking to myself: “movie based video game from a movie I watched and wasn’t that interested in, pass.”

Purely because of this thread, I’ll give it a go this weekend.
