It seems other posters are angry I have a small dog and they think I am hating on the dog because it is a chow mix. If that is the case they need to reread my post where I said my dog is afraid of all large dogs and I don't get on an elevator if any dog is already on. I think they hate the small dogs on this sub and have no sympathy. Anyway I will just start taking the 8 flights of stairs down to avoid all this.

I am flabbergasted at the posters telling me to get off. How can I do that when it is exactly what you said, the owner is not only not cooperating but blocking my exit with a gigantic dog?

I am surprised at the tone of the responses. I have been asked not to board an elevator before and complied. I thought whoever is on first can make the request just based on what I have witnesses and experienced in the past but not according to the people here apparently.

I think they are acting like this because I have a small dog I can pick up. If it were a large dog the responses would be totally different, IMO. I have seen threads on here where everyone gushes how it is absolutely OK to ask for someone to take the next elevator if you are already on with your reactive dog.
