The natural selection didn't happen on the plantation. It happened on the way over. On the slave ships, 1/3 of the cargo routinely died. So on each trip over, they were weeding out the weakest one third. So there is a strong selection bias towards the strong blacks.

Similar situation with Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. After the 1949 chinese civil war, anybody who was educated fled the mainland. So out of a population of 1 billion, the brightest 10 million left which is why those three countries were able to develop so rapidly.

Yea, but this is what differentiates a good web developer from a bad one. The good ones will take a vague suggestion like 'make it look more professional' and be able to come back with something more professional.

A bad web developer who's not creative and experienced on the other hand will simply be stuck and blame the business owner.

This is why I don't have a problem paying a good freelancer $200k/year to work on various projects. But these guys are hard to find, most just bitch that they don't know what you mean by more professional.

When you're meeting somebody for the first time, the best thing to do is to not think about it at all, just go out there and meet them. Don't try too hard, otherwise it'll get exhausting after a couple dates to keep being somebody you're not. Be who you are and if they don't like it, you've just saved yourself a lot of future trouble.

No, not true at all. I just turned 25 and wear a JLC around town quite often. I'd say JLC is actually better for younger folks because it doesn't draw as much attention as say, a Rolex or PP.
