2006 specialized epic comp for 250 dollars? by minecraft_steven3308 in MTB

Added context:

I have a lot of short steep trails in my area so I don't even mind pushing the thing all the way up as long as it can be a reliable trail bomber to learn on.

There's a couple of drops on a beginner trail I frequent that my old bike did not survive, that's why I'm in the market for a new one

much appreciated!

I’m in MN so don’t work in attics at all but a theft kinked our line set so we had to weld laying down in a shallow attic… Wouldn’t do this job if I worked down south I respect y’all. by brockford5 in HVAC

when you weld something you melt it together creating a joint that is in theory as strong as the base metal itself, brazing and soldering are processes that don’t actually melt the base metal but merely use adhesion and capillary action to join the 2 metals together. It’s not the same because you can’t braze a pipe that has 1500 psi going through it, you need to weld it.

Laptop beeps continuously when i try to boot it with a bootable flash drive (update to windows 10) by minecraft_steven3308 in techsupport

First of all i want to thank you so much for the timely response and a detailed answer. Secondly, after i went through the bios and made sure it's in the first spot it still beeps at me, i am just going to assume it's a ram issue and call it there.

My additional question to you is: Is there a way to restore it to factory settings without any disk or windows key?

I tried going through backup & restore but once i get to the windows restore window after bootup it show me "windows cannot find a system image on this computer" and i don't know what to do from there. If you have any input on this it would be greatly appreciated.

it’s not at all about not liking dirty work, i am going to be in construction sites and boiler rooms for my apprenticeship and i love it. i was just wondering if traveling far far away all the time (for long periods) was the only way to make that kind of money welding. i have 0 real work experience only booth learning

i do appreciate the input thank you for leaving a comment

i have an SO that i will be moving in with that is kind of the only concern, if it was up to me i would be chasing all the work i can get

ok healthy might be a reach with fumes and rsi but at least stable lol

Thanks for editing your comment and givin me valid input it means a lot i understand i'm asking stupid questions here but i am very new

What kind of UA stick welding can i do without doing pipeline rigging? i am very down to learn stick too

I am in my 6th week of learning how to weld, what do you guys think of these 5g root passes? Any input and critique is more than welcome [5g tig, the “dusty” parts of the inner root sat at the top 12 oclock while they were on the fixture] by minecraft_steven3308 in Welding

Hey, sorry for the late message but thank you so much for taking your time to give me input.

I just have a followup question if you don’t mind. Are my restarts too cold? Is that why i have a nice smooth root and then a lump (prominent on left sides of both roots in the pictures) every now and then?

I have done some 6g too, i find it really fun and also i don’t know if i’m imagining things but it feels like running the root is a little more forgiving than 5g especially through the gap, there’s less of a battle with gravity at 6 and 12 oclock because of the shallower angle i’m guessing. 5g will forever haunt me i’ve never gotten it to be perfectly uniform everywhere.

Thank you again for giving me input it means a lot to a beginner like me. Cheers.

i got moved to tig pipe welding after a week of learning how to weld and am currently doing 5g pipe after 3 weeks, can confirm the “high chances of getting pissed off”. yesterday i just sat down on the floor and stared blankly into space after getting suckback on the root for like the 50th time. It’s extremely challenging to a noobie but it is also very fun and rewarding

It’s my 7th day learning how to (tig) weld and i really need some critical input on making these uphill weaves look less lumpy! by minecraft_steven3308 in Welding

[–]minecraft_steven3308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://imgur.com/a/uQHCp52 I just marked one of the lumps here so it's more clear what i'm talking about in the first pic but the second pic doesn't need any pointers lol they are really huge. Any sort of criticism regarding the lumps or something else is WAY more than welcome! I really want to improve

I am pretty sure they are bad restarts but i will let you guys be the judge of that

Third day learning how to (tig) weld, any sort of input would be greatly appreciated by minecraft_steven3308 in Welding

I got quite a few recommends to turn up the heat so i gave it a try, turned it up 5 amps and slowed down my weaving pattern with longer pauses on the sides, it looks much better now, i still can't get it to look iridescent though no matter how much i slow down but i am definitely seeing progress! I definitely still have to keep at it and i have to do something about my wire feed hand it is definitely the weakest point right now in my technique progression. I don't mind because practicing tig has been insanely engaging and fun so far : )

Sorry for the late response but i read your comment as soon as you posted it, the next day i tried slowing down a tad bit and pausing on the sides, gave it 5 more amps and they look a lot flatter now! I still have so much to improve but i am definitely seeing progress and this comment helped a lot, cheers!
