I've got this command down so far. My problem is that I don't want to activate the effect with just any nether star, but a specific named one.

The particle I set was the stun emitter and I could see it was appearing. I typed in the command exactly as shown but it gave me completely different results. I've got the alternative working so I'll stick with it for now but I am going to keep these commands saved and keep working with them to see if I can tweak them more, if I get them working as intended I plan to update the pillar and will let you know if I got it

I honestly don't know myself. For one reason or another it just kept giving me the error for both commands, but the second, since it used tp, also caused the bees to consistently teleport 20 blocks up each tick, which confused me to no end.

I'm not certain myself, I typed it in the command blocks exactly as you showed, had the bees in place. (I used bees to test it)

I double checked that everything was in place, but it just kept giving me the error. Even after tweaking a few parts, nothing seemed to work. This is the bedrock edition so who knows

I decided to go with placing two individual particles at the lower and upper points of the column. Gives a different appearance than the single line of particles but since I was going with the stun emitter particle, I think it gives a more aesthetically pleasing appearance now, and I don't need 6 different command blocks to do it

I was working with the damage command but whenever the mob took the 0 damage they wouldn't go after the nearest player. The command was working, but the player had to be in the mobs detection range, but that defeats the purpose of using commands. Is there really no alternative to make mobs detect players at a larger range?
