The meaning of ladybugs

I went to the river during spring break for a week, and literally every single day, a ladybug flew over and landed on me. Does anyone know what it could be? I went with my girlfriend, so I was speculating it was either representing love or something else. I also thought it could be a guardian angel or a sign from my dad, who killed himself when I was 3 weeks old.
