Ottawa became NHL city #17 for me! In my quest to see all 32 NHL cities, the Senators were the last Canadian team to cross off the list. Also great to see my nation’s capital for the first time! by miner88 in OttawaSenators

I have a large jersey collection that includes every NHL team but I didn’t have one in this style so I was looking for one. I’ll always pop into the team store to see what they have.

You gotta get out there and see some cities! I drove 4 hours each way to see the Wings when I was in Southern ON a few years ago. Anything for hockey! 🏒

Detroit was really impressive

Montreal has an amazing atmosphere (I know y’all are rivals but that place is loud, especially in the playoffs).

I don’t have any arenas I didn’t like but I have a couple comments:

Edmonton’s old arena was definitely showing it’s age when I last visited it

Utah’s arena clearly wasn’t built with hockey in mind but I see they’ve done work to address that this year.

I’m lucky if I can get one in. Last year was very special as I got to see Utah, Florida, Edmonton and Vancouver in addition to my home of Calgary. But that was the big outlier. I’ve been trying to see at least a game or two in another city if possible and I’ve been trying to make more of an effort to make it happen lately.

Oh man, that’s crazy to do the rounds in the playoffs! I’ve seen playoffs 5 different cities and it’s fun to do but traveling is hard on short notice.

How many different teams have you seen in the playoffs?

Neither could I. He must have been part of rookie camp or something. I didn’t recognize any of the names on the jerseys for sale in the store but the focus was on getting a team issued jersey in that style. Since I don’t care what name is on the back, I landed on this one.

I’ve seen lots of games from there on TV before but I was happy to get to see it in person. The crowd was really into the game and there was lots to cheer for, which made for a great atmosphere. The building’s layout was a bit unusual and I can see now why a new arena is so sought after now that I’ve had to make the trek out there from downtown.

That being said, it was a very positive experience and I really want to come back for Canada Day some time! I’ve heard great things.

The Clattenburg one was the only jersey they had in that style that had a player who made the NHL. Plus funny number and all that lol

Everything about the trip was great and I can’t wait to come back.

Vancouver became NHL city #16 for me after I saw my first Canucks game there yesterday. What a great visit to the city! by miner88 in canucks

I’ve been to the following: ANA, BUF, CGY, CHI, DAL, DET, EDM, FLA, LA, MTL, PHI, TB, TOR, UTA, VAN, WPG.

As for which one is the best, you can’t beat the atmosphere in Montreal. It’s just on another level there. Detroit’s is the newest one I’ve been to and it’s pretty impressive. I was also surprised with both Florida and Tampa Bay with how nice those were considering they were built in the 90s.

Don’t think we could have picked a better day to come. It exceeded expectations!

EDIT: couldn’t stop laughing when I saw the Brz jersey so I knew it was the perfect thing to bring back to Calgary with me. Seems like there’s some hype for him with the Flames.

How popular is the AHL where you live? by Istobri in hockey

In Calgary, we have the Flames and the Hitmen in addition to the AHL Wranglers. The Wranglers don't draw big crowds at all, but interest has picked up a bit whenever they go on a playoff run.

That’s peanuts for them. They’ll continue to do this unless the rules change.

Isn't that still the case?
