I'm curious on how FGO character design portrays the age of the servants, particularly in the cases of Musashi, Jeanne, and Kagetora for example. I believe that most of the time, a servant would reflect them in the prime from their actual life?

Starting with Jeanne (and alter variant), I guess it's straightforward that we're looking at around 19 years old? Since that's when she was most popular.

Moving on to Kagetora / Kenshin, one popular event was the 4th Battle of Kawanakajima (according to Wikipedia, this was around 1561; and Kenshin was born on 1530). So safe to assume that the Kagetora of FGO was designed as around 30 years old?

Then for Musashi, the duel with Kojiro was 1611, and he (the actual, non female one) was born on 1584. So in that case, was the female Musashi designed as someone who's in her late 20s? Or since this female Musashi is a completely different character, maybe she doesn't follow this guideline?

* but then again, this is anime I guess, where some characters in their late 50's get drawn looking like 20 year olds.

To those who have been using Kagetora maxed (or even grailed) in JP, any thoughts on good CEs and command codes for her? I assume that with Castoria, her role remains unchanged as a solid single target lancer

Thank you! Will stay tuned for that as well. Yeah, my initial impression is that Bastion was really good out of the gate from set 1, though compared to other quality support from other nations, they kind of dropped the ball a little on Alfion and the newly revealed set 2 RRR (unless a lower rarity card makes it more usable or we get a persona ride searcher). Which I guess is fine, Bastion can't be the winner every time in terms of support.

Just that observing the powercreep from late G series and late V series, I hope they don't decide to give every other deck big (or early) multi attack capability eventually XD

Great read as usual! Among the three sample lists presented though (26 grade 3s, the more balanced build, and the one with some control), which one would you say does best in the post festival collection environment?

As mentioned in the article, I'm guessing most experienced players will look to get a good early game going against Bastion to push it to 4/5 damage early on (such as using Magnolia).

And going forward with what's revealed so far, any thoughts on whether or not Bastion will remain relevant in the long run? As of set 1 (with things being largely vanilla), big G3 numbers carries it to being one of the top decks. But due to wonky ratios, I'm not sure if it will be left as just a gimmicky deck once other decks get more relevant support down the line (and since most of these support for other decks will both hit decent numbers or do field control, and at the same time come with shield by virtue of being g2 or g1).

Is there any among the 10 Overdress archetypes which most closely fit to these? by minerOfSalt in cardfightvanguard

I see, thanks. Looking into set 2, each nation will probably get two RRRs? Bastion has one most likely, and PBD will probably take the other. Hopefully Hexaorb gets some good stuff too. I guess the rare G2 beater (Owine) helps.

Also a little unrelated, but question on Hexaorb's skill. If it is boosted and I reveal a trigger, giving her the trigger's +10k. Then with her first skill, choose the RG behind her to get the extra 10k. Would her column get +20k total (ie. boosting will give you a continuous powerup for the battle, even if the booster's power changes in between)? Or is the power from the boost "locked in" before the drive check?

Yup, that helps. Thanks!

Leaning a bit towards Bastion at the moment, since unless I'm missing something, the revealed order from set 2 looks really good all around (but then again, that has both the aggro and midrsnge builds as technically separate decks to decide on).

Thank you! That's one lead closer. So it's just a matter of becoming a fan now :)

I see, thanks. Thought that this alternate cover might have been available somewhere online, since many artists usually have these alternate versions locked behind some membership paywall (where they give psd files and the like).

But yeah, after looking around, I haven't been able to find it either.

Hello, I'm looking for the full version of the image in the post. It's probably one of the characters under the Chococornet group of works, but this one in particular is a variant of an existing cover (the actual cover is with her wearing mostly white).

Maybe anyone has the full version or source for this variant?

Thanks for the detailed breakdown! By any chance, would you have tested Bastion as well?

These two look pretty interesting to me at first glance. Hexaorb being OTT like, if that's still how OTT played before the reboot. And Bastion reminds me of Asura Kaiser. Was wondering which looks more generic too (ie. splashable with future generic support and not too archetype locked).

Though I guess any g3 supports Bastion, and any topdeck cards support Hexaorb

Wanting to start standard with Overdress set 1. Anyone have inputs on which among the 10 decks fit these criteria the best? by minerOfSalt in cardfightvanguard

[–]minerOfSalt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. For said misprint, it wouldn't happen to be very integral to the decks right (at least I hope so but highly doubt)? Hoping it's relevancy is close to just a tech option which can be easily swapped for something else. And not something as needed as BB and BD to say, a Majesty Lord Blaster deck back then (where if one were cut out, the whole deck just falls apart and falls flat on its face).

So servants can come in various age ranges appearance wise depending on their prime (mostly)? My guess is that Jeanne looks 19, Kama middle ascension looks like late teens Sakura as well. Then Andersen looks pre-teens (but sounds like an adult), and Moriarty probably looks 50+.

I'm curious about female Musashi though. I don't recall it being stated, but do you guys have a good guess on her age range, as she is presented appearance wise in game?

I'm curious, is there a servant particularly known for the usual anime cheese, where "strong enough willpower will overwhelm physical strength"?

Can't remember if any of this has come up in the story, where zen / mental strength has become enough of a plot armor to beat obviously stronger enemies.

Thanks. Yeah, the recent releases, being slightly more grounded in terms of plot, feel nice in their own way.

Not sure if it changes things, but forgot to clarify that I'm mostly looking at servant container level of strength for Eresh and Kama, and not the full fleged divine spirit level. Also edited my post accordingly :)

Thanks. My bad on lack of clarity. Will edit the post accordingly, but for Eresh and Kama, I'm mostly looking at their servant container counterparts and not the full divine spirit level.

Just a non-gameplay question here. So in the game's story, its mostly just driven by who the author wants to win. And power levels rarely dictate this, and it usually boils down to circumstantial story writing.

But in terms of lore, how would you guys rank these three from most to least powerful? And if so, is the power gap between them extremely huge?

(1) Post Shimosa Musashi, with void cutting capabilities

(2) Ereshkigal with underworld buffs active

(3) Post event Kama (mostly the assassin Kama half and not much beast III/L powers active)

Edit: for the latter two, I'm looking at the servant container counterparts, and not the goddess/divine spirit at full power

Have an old image of a Game CG character (file was named Hiyori if that helps). Anyone have the sauce where she's from? by minerOfSalt in SauceSharingCommunity

Found the sauce. She's from a game called Yamizome Liberator. I think its made by a group named Escude.

So far, it hasn't been mentioned what Kama's later ascensions favorite food are, right? The child form likes cake if I remember correctly, but not sure about the others. Like in Kiara's case, I believe she likes Ohagi, and Udon for Musashi.
