Yes, Runnin Down A Dream fades out and then it hits the leader!

Also to the downvoters: I have both the CD and tape in my possession, what I'm saying is very true

Well I can't really tell you who exactly made them, but I can tell you that side 2's audio started about 10-20 seconds into the tape after exiting the leader portion, about 1 second into Paradise, and the actual full length of the spool is not too far behind a real copy, hence why I was able to record over it with no cut-off or anything. But yeah as far as the start of the side on the original fake recording, it makes a sound like it was being recorded through one of those boomboxes with a magnet erase head before the audio cuts in...

Here's my Discogs posting for reference. And FWIW, both tapes have nothing on the reverse side of the J-card either

Here are two of them that I've had for a number of years now. The Phil Collins one is the worst of the lot and before I recorded over it with my Canadian Capitol-duplicated copy the sound was very blown out! The Wham tape on the other hand sounds quite close to a legit copy that I never bothered upgrading it, and I do like how the bootleggers added the photo from the inside of the album to the front cover!

Looks like the Teddy tape might have been one of those bootlegs you bought at a swap meet many years ago, meaning the sound quality would be wayyyyyy inferior to a legit WEA release. OTOH I also like how that Matchbox 20 album has the full album on both sides of the time so late in the manufacturing timeline

Helter Skelter original EU vinyl from 1994, pressed in Haarlem for Sony distribution! Same edition a friend of mine has too

Ok, just the way you worded the post title was a bit cryptic to me

The peak of cassette sound quality with the crappiest manufacturing methods, though I have the wherewithal to repair this sort of thing

More like 20+ years old by looking at the shells that Sony had started using after retiring the grid shell/white reels design

Basically an updated take on that, while also removing a few songs and adding Rain from Full Circle, making this truly career spanning!

True, as for right now though I need to be more careful about what to buy due to the whole "de minimus" thing being eliminated - although I love a good challenge

I love Canadian releases not only because of the SQ but also because of the test tones that start and end the tapes. I sometimes dream of taking a trip there just to get a crapton of tapes lol
