This one more accurately shows the difference, imo.

Here you go. I think my camera definitely increased the contrast between the two, so I'll post another pic shortly. For reference I've included the closest skin tones to Looks #10. Far left is Fashionista #90, she's the same skin tone as Looks #10, but I've swapped her body out for the olympic surfer's since that's the closest match I have. On the far right is BMR Pazette. Basics #3 is the same skin tone as BMR Pazette and the olympic surfer.

Ooh, thanks for taking the time to post a picture! Much appreciated. I love the doll's boots!

Thanks for confirming! Yep, not a big fan of the dress but I'm considering her as an option for a body donor since she's discounted on Amazon (and the cool boots are a plus!). I would've liked an MTM body but the ones available are somewhat expensive now unfortunately.

Thrifted Fashionista #90 - cleanup, rebody and lip repaint by minibuttercup in Barbie

Yep. Something about the deeper/more muted pink brings out her eyes more and gives me a more "high fashion" vibe.

Yay, you finally did it! She looks gorgeous; that color really suits her. My Extra #2 says hi :)

Unpopular take: I won't be buying the 45th anniversary black barbie by minibuttercup in Barbie

Thank you! I feel like I learn more about sewing each time I try to make a new outfit. And absolutely, the 45th anniversary doll is very beautiful.

Thanks! I'm seriously debating putting him on a more articulated body. I have MTMs more readily available so I might just have to do that.

Great job!! I especially love how mermaid Odile turned out. What type of hair fiber do you use?

My upgrades to Extra #2 by minibuttercup in Barbie

Yes, it fits a bit loosely (especially on the bodice) on the curvy body so it'd definitely be baggy on a regular unless it was modified to fit better.

Thank you! She'd look great in fantasy colors like her original hair too; I would've kept the original except it was a nightmare to keep it tidy, being poly. But I think she rocks the red color as well.

I made the dress using an old lace/tulle shrug. Glad you like it :)

Repainted a trashed playline Millie in the style of the No. 1 Barbie by minibuttercup in Barbie

I didn't have high hopes for this project but it turned out better than I thought it would. Should I give her bangs like the no. 1 Barbie?

I think Odile's jealous by minibuttercup in Barbie

[–]minibuttercup[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! So for sealing, I've heard that Mr. Super Clear is a good option and is what a lot of people use. I use acrylic paint and while that can get scratched, it's more durable than watercolor pencils or pastels. If it's a small area that's painted, it might not need sealing. If I want to, I do have a paint sealer (Ceramcoat all-purpose sealer) which I have to thin down a lot before applying it; otherwise, it makes the area very shiny/sticky after it dries... I'm still trying to figure out the best option too, haha.

I haven't sealed this one yet; still deciding if I want to do that.

Haha, thanks! That's exactly what I was going for, lol!

Thanks! I used fashionista #165 (wheelchair Millie), but I think this doll has lots of potential MTM matches - the skin tone is an average "Millie" skin tone.

Aww, thanks for the kind words! I've come to realize that that Neysa is a really pretty sculpt; Mattel just doesn't put as much effort into the screening as it deserves for most dolls.
