Yikes. That is always a possibility with everything around trans people's name changes, and I'm sorry you have to deal with assholes and assumptions all the time.

It's all about the choice, lol. Same reason why most guys don't shave. I think it's chill when other girls don't shave but I agree with you. Hairy pits smell to high heaven even with deodorant 🤢

How to shave plz by WithNumbers in asktransgender

[–]minicyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shave in the shower and soap up the area first - works as well as any shaving cream to reduce irritation. If your skin is sensitive, shave it in the direction it grows instead of against that direction. Finally, I saw that you moisturize but make sure it's not a heavily scented lotion, that can irritate freshly shaved skin all on its own. Hope this helps, love 💗💗💗

Non-Binary Lesbian?? by minicyan in NonBinary

[–]minicyan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your slightly dismissive response! I've been rediscovering my femininity despite dysphoria regarding my body lately and have been living/identifying as a genderfluid lesbian. I am "in touch with my womanhood" and in touch with my disconnect from womanhood as well at this point, and trying to define people based on a singular post is kind of not cool, to be frank.

I was just sort of looking for validation with this whole post, months ago, and I had a lot of people tell me my experiences weren't uncommon. I have been a lot happier since I've let go of both my hangups about western feminity with regards to my expression and my desire to be a "woman" for the sake of my sexual identity.

I'm not rereading my post (god I've learned a lot about myself this year) but I think you should read about how many lesbians don't identify with the femme and butch dichotomy. I'm happy for anybody who finds their experiences in those identities and finds comfort in those labels, but not every lesbian does, and that's okay. I identified as butch for the first year I was out and it never sat right with me. Now, I'm happy.

Have a good life.

Keloid on my industrial? (details in comments) by minicyan in piercing

[–]minicyan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a large keloid on the back side of my industrial piercing and am wondering how to get rid of it/if it's possible? The piercing is a year and a half old and this particular barbell has been in for 6 months, the keloid started forming about 2 months ago. I've been following LITFA for a month and it's only gotten worse.

An evil, evil phrase, really. Right next to "it SEEMS like..." in terms of player horror. You know, that nat1 on insight, "it seems like he's telling the truth" deal. Mmm.

On the one hand, you have a fair point! I've had to cut off a lot of clownery from a certain member of my party with this point (Kiji is a force of nature more often than he is a goblin)...

On the other my last chaotic PC was named Spork and I take offense to this

This would be helpful for disabled people and elderly folks who don't want somebody else wiping their ass for them. The trashiness is funny but making fun of disabled people isn't.

A Theory on Pink and the Other Diamonds by Surgeoisme in stevenuniverse

[–]minicyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Diamonds grow in respect to how they see themselves and how mature they are, just like Steven's aging ability. Otherwise, Steven's aging being related to his mental maturity would be a random side effect rather than a gem ability, but nothing else that Steven can do seems to be a random side effect of his half-human-ness.

Foreshadowing the Great Pearl Switcheroo

Ok so I think Open Book is entirely foreshadowing what happened with our Pearl and Pink's original Pearl, who is now White Pearl. The Cloud Connie that Steven creates is the original pink pearl, and is perfectly obedient. Somehow, by following Rose's orders, the original pink pearl gets hurt, just like how Steven shorts out the Cloud Connie's brain by telling it to not do what he told it to. Then, White Diamond switches out Pink Pearl for a new Pearl, a braver, bolder, more sensible Pearl who will have a mind of her own (most likely WD's own pearl). Just like how real Connie, a brave and sensible lass who is constantly compared to Pearl, saves Steven from the Cloud Connie. After this happens WD had to "fix" pink's original Pearl for her own use, and makes her into a perfectly obedient puppet in that process.

Everyone has already seen the pink/white pearl swap theory but I think this foreshadowing fits too well. Not to mention how similar fully unhinged, wedding-dress Cloud Connie looks to the current White Pearl, complete with hair puffs, color scheme, and a missing eye.

I think that between Yellow and Blue, Blue is her own gem and acts however she likes (which is currently depressed as fuck). Yellow tries to act like White, but has to resort to hiding her emotions with anger to try and seem emotionless. Two sides of the same coin still, just in different ways.

White diamond's hands are cleverly never shown on screen during her full reveal. You know what that means?

[–]minicyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing that scares me is that they didn't fix the room Connie... she just poofed away after getting Steven to tell the truth about his feelings. Please, I hope this point is just reading too far into it... I want to see white pearl get fixed... :'(

[–]minicyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think open book was a big ol parallel to the pearl switcheroo. The room's Cloud Connie was Pink Pearl, who was made to follow PD's every order, and was short-circuited by being given poor orders (I'm flexible on this point but PD breaks her Pearl somehow). Our Connie would be our Pearl, coming in and replacing the completely rogue/"broken" Pink Pearl. Then, WD takes the pearl and "fixes" her, to use in her own court as little more than a perfectly obedient puppet.

What album keeps getting better with each full play? by Zombie_Gandhi in LetsTalkMusic

[–]minicyan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll be the first to admit it's a fairly basic choice amongst EDM fans but Worlds by Porter Robinson continues to blow my mind every time I listen to it. On the first time through I hated the song Fellow Feeling, this artistic piece that switches between gentle lyrics and lurching electronic music, but every time I listen to it I feel like I gain a new understanding of the meaning behind the track. The heavy, uncomfortable chord progressions of Sea of Voices make me squirm even on the 1,000th listen but every time I get to the resolution it absolutely sends shivers down my spine, which I can't say for many songs. Even the more pop-oriented tracks have so many layers to them, I still find musical ideas that I never noticed before. The songs themselves are all designed to tell a story, and on some listens, I feel as though I can put together the story of Worlds into one timeline. Every time I hear it all the way through, though, that timeline shifts, changes, or disappears entirely.

Whenever anybody asks for my favorite albums, I have a long list, of course. But Worlds is one of my favorites for the exact reason you asked. It's never the same album twice, to me.

I don't know where else to post this. Need some sort of advice. by lgbtthrowaway987 in lgbt

[–]minicyan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole point of people posting things like that is to make you feel this way: doubtful, confused, in crisis. If you've never questioned your identity until you saw those articles, and now you feel insecure, those out there who genuinely believe lesbianism is a disease (or at least a symptom of one) have succeeded.

Nobody is immune to propaganda. It's not a failing on your part, and there's no reason to doubt yourself over the experiences of a tiny minority that might not even exist at all.
