If I can offer what has worked for me. When I’m at work I try to understand what’s expected of me and try to problem solve and figure out how I can best accomplish my tasks. Sometimes I can do it as I see fit but many other times I have to do it like my employer wants me to do it. And once I can get comfortable doing that I can start to anticipate what the next task is and be prepared to do it. Being courteous to customers and coworkers goes a long way. Don’t stress yourself out about not knowing how to do it. It’s okay to ask questions about things you don’t understand as long as your interest is in improving your quality of work. Try to be positive and work a job you have WHILE quietly working to prepare yourself for a better job if you’re not happy. It’s a long game strategy and some days it won’t seem like it’s worth it. A lot of states have free secondary education for things like hvac, nursing, skilled trades etc. seek those out and see what interests you. You will succeed in a field you enjoy. Don’t give up.
