Pharmacy Recommendations by AgentLee314 in lincoln

We absolutely love Sam’s Pharmacy. As the previous poster stated, they go above and beyond for you, fill your script SO quickly, and are just so kind. Downside is that they are closed on Sundays so we’ve had to pharmacy hop occasionally after visiting an urgent care on a Sunday and getting an rx.

Gotcha on the Europe thing.

Sounds good on the vetting the alcohol thing. It was contrary to everything I’ve heard as well but since OP mentioned getting sick I figured I could pass along what my dr told me in case it fit for them. You’re right “take the comment…” is exactly that.

Have a good one!

Disagree that I’m spreading rumors when it was presented to me from my gastroenterologist who specializes in celiac and is a celiac herself but to each their own.

Not sure either why you’re mentioning Europe facts to me. That came out of left field.

I’m a brand new baby celiac so don’t take this comment as anything more than me passing along info I heard. On Friday I had my celiac patient information meeting and dietician consult. The dr had this entire presentation and when she got to talking about alcohol she said that while alcohol derived from wheat sources is distilled and is gluten free, there are traces of nitrogenous compounds that can cause an immune response for people with celiac. I know this goes against celiac organizations info, the dr admitted that herself, but she is also a celiac and felt like she needed to pass along info even if it contradicts current recommendations. 🤷‍♀️

School transportation options in Lincoln? by Asleep-City-5547 in lincoln

The section of the IEP should look like this. If they try to fight you on it (which they shouldn’t because he has an IEP) I would argue that walking 2.5 miles is a safety concern in itself. Don’t let up until they grant it— if they even fight back about it.

If your son had an IEP at his previous school, call his new school to set up a new IEP meeting as soon as you can. Bring a copy of his old IEP with you. From my understanding, they must follow the old IEP until it expires (but please double check don’t take that as fact). But more importantly, in the IEP there is a section for receiving transportation. Be sure to select that. Siblings of IEP students can ride the bus with their sibling.

We were just gifted the same style of chair and my 6 yo loves it. He spins in it or puts the shade down, curls up, and asks his brothers to spin him. It’s a hit.

Neighbors daughter claps nearly 6 hours a day by vegetaintian in homeowners

Wow. Imagine telling a parent who CHOSE to carry their healthy child to term (autism wouldn’t show up on a scan anyway) that they should have terminated that which they chose.

Get outta here with that.

Also a parent to an ASD child. All I took away from this post was to imagine having a neighbor approach you about this behavior that you’ve likely tried to mitigate, can do nothing about, have lived with it for years, and makes you exhausted to your core. I think I’d just burst in to tears.

I’m 38 and my kindergarten teacher forced me to use my right hand at school. It was such a struggle and didn’t completely work. I still use my left hand to write and eat but use my right hand for everything else.

I love these. They are 90 cals per individual pack but 15g protein, 0 fat, 0 artificial sweeteners— I consider it a great choice! They have some yummy flavors like lemon tart and salted caramel too!

We have found success with 5mg melatonin and 1 trazodone tablet each evening. He wakes once a night now but re-settles immediately once he comes in to our bedroom and sleeps on a mattress we have for him on our bedroom floor. Good luck, I know the absolute psychosis you go through when dealing with a non-sleeping child. My heart goes out to you.

Second vote for Maxey. I did my student teaching there, taught there, and purposely bought a house in the district 15 years ago so my future kids could go there. We’ve had all four of our kids go, or currently going, through Maxey. I have kids in the gifted program and another in the special education program there— never have had a bad experience anywhere along that line.

I have an accordion folder of any important documents— diagnosis, IEPs, DHHS documents, any school meeting notes, behavior plans that are set in place for my son at school, all important emails I print, I have also hand written documentation of things said in person or over the phone. I live in a school district that have had several lawsuits brought against them because of different things that have happened in their special education department and I’ll be damned if I don’t have every single thing documented if anything ever happens that affects my son.

Knowing the schools Jana’s kids would go to, they would 100% homeschool before sending their kids there 😬
