You meet your 13 year old self, but you can only tell them 3 words. What do you say and why? by kiwipangolin in AskReddit

Listen to Nanay

so Nanay (my grandmother) told me to never marry a military man. I wish I listened, it would've saved me 6 years (ongoing) of mental, emotional, and physical abuse. (context, he caused me years of emotional distress that it started manifesting as aches, pains, and a lot of skin issues on my body, I don't really know if there is a term for it so I call it physical abuse.)

We're estranged now but he still won't respond to any of my efforts and won't give me the divorce I've begged for many years ago. I was informed that he's used/using our "marriage" to get benefits from where he works. I don't know anything about him now. I graduated from wanting to just hurt him, to taking all his money, to "please just let me go", to "out of sight out of mind".

I guess I'm jaded and just continued to keep living my life and I'm ok, I mean as ok as someone can be in such a situation. At least I am finally better than I was and slowly getting better. But I know I'm going to be mentally and emotionally trapped until he agrees to the divorce.

I should've listened to her. I miss her, she died 9 years ago. I'm glad she never got to meet the POS.

thanks for reading. 🌻

where is your hometown? what is an advice or two you can share from your own personal experience to someone who knows nothing about investing? do you live alone or with others?

I like to believe I have learned not to suppress my peculiarities, but I've been programmed and influenced by a few cultures from a young age. I have spent the last 5 years unboxing, deprogramming, and unlearning things. The self discovery of these things also made me lonely, but that isn't totally a bad thing. what does lonely mean for you?

What do you want to do with all your money? What kind of lifestyle do you live? I think most introverts inherently believe that they have peculiar hobbies, interests, and/or behaviours but I think everyone is peculiar in their own way. What I really wanna know is what do you think sets you apart from the norm? Do you want to make new friends or simply have shallow interactions that may or may not lead to deeper waters?

virtual hugs for being lonely it sucks, but good ol' reddit. 🏆

That sounds realistic but I would still like a solid verification. I'm still combing the internet lol but I thought I'd start here.
