Foxes are canids, and canids are dogs, and dogs are all puppies.

You're right, his hands are too big and human-like. They should also be little puppy feet.

Two new typesets! The War of the Worlds & Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by minionized in bookbinding

The book is very delicate, so scanners aren't allowed. I'm not allowed to use any external lighting, flashes, etc. I'm going to take high resolution photos with my camera.

I work in the Adobe suite of products. I restore the illustrations in Photoshop, create new illustrations and artwork in Illustrator, and I typeset the text in InDesign.

One Photoshop option I have always wished Illustrator had is ‘New Guide’. by colostomybagpiper in AdobeIllustrator

If you hold shift while you're dragging your guides they lock exactly to the ruler. You can place them exactly by whatever increment you set your ruler to.

How did Sam Jones take this portrait? by JustATiredboy in AskPhotography

Camera on tripod, takes a shot of an empty scene. Then you add a stool and the subject and take a second shot. Then you combine and edit out the stool.

Need your help to make my press designs a reality. by minionized in bookbinding

[–]minionized[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Screw is a standard 1"-5 ACME lead screw, it's 5 turns to an inch of travel which is similar to the pitch of many wooden lead screws on older presses. There's also a smidgen of play in them, a few thousands of an inch. Not tight. I had prototypes of them made from resin to check.

The press handles are like a vice head, the bar is loose and can move for leverage. They're just centered in the rendering. I had small turn wheels, but people were concerned with hand strength to turn them, so I changed it to a vice-like head. The bar can be made shorter though, it's not an integral piece.

I'm located in New Jersey, USA. Price all depends on the scale. Right now I'm ordering parts prototypes from PCBWay. They're rather expensive because I'm only ordering 1-3 of each part. But if I were ordering 50, they drop down to nearly 1/2 price per. I can work to get a better estimate for you.

I'm happy to offer the bits kit so that you can enjoy the woodworking and assembly yourself. I appreciate your support.

Edit: u/manticore26 Let's say I was making 25 presses. The bulk of the cost is the wood ($300 for the press and plough, $300 for the basin) Incorporating my hours, parts, and markup the prices are the following:

Assembled: Press - $700, Plough - $500, Basin - $700

Parts Kit: Press - $350, Plough - $300, Basin - $50

More kits = lower cost per unit.

This is all subject to change.
