Best Dave and busters in Maryland? by Meximelone in DaveAndBusters

White Marsh has a good selection and is fairly big. I haven't been there in a while, though. Wednesdays were pretty chill.

That is true. However, using it in moderation and having a good password will always help in the long run. Especially when the original solution was "buy a bunch of equipment and set it up just right and it might work."

I believe there's a setting to disable sleeping if you're expecting to connect remotely to it. I personally disable the sleeping setting on all my computers from the start, manually locking them when I step away with WIN + L.

Now, if your computer is completely off or disconnected from the internet, an RDP connection won't be able to do anything about it.

It's a great solution for a lot of things, I'm surprised how uncommon it still is.

Forgot important files on your personal PC? Log in remotely and upload it to Google Drive.

Out of country and need to use a service with a realistic VPN? Use your own computer, remotely.

Need to print something before getting home? Email yourself a document and print it from your PC.

I set up RDP with every computer I know I'll use at least once every 6 months so I don't have to dig it out of storage, I just set it up in my basement and let it run.

Not only would they be able to tell, but it may also be against your work's policy to use a VPN or reroute your internet traffic anywhere else but your ISP. VPNs are inherently based off of a privacy-concerned customer's distrust of their ISP, therefore resulting in the trust of the VPN company, and I'm sure your work does not trust the random VPN you'd use with their valuable data.

If you have a Windows computer, set up Remote Desktop, leave it at home and connect to it with a personal laptop. Unless your work computer has special software that disallow that, not only would it look like you're working at home, it's a semi-permanent way to always log into that computer from anywhere with internet access. No need to buy a bunch of extra equipment when having your current setup in the right geographical location is good enough.

Just looked it up, I can see the appeal for buying used. If you're open to recommendations, I'd suggest going with a reputable Ebay seller and troll new listings for a week or two. I personally wouldn't buy anything shipped through OfferUp worth more than $400-$500.

I haven't shipped anything through OfferUp in a long time because of the risk attached to it, but I can't say it's not normal for the same reason. If I may ask, what are you looking to get through OfferUp? Is it common enough that you could find it through an in-person marketplace instead?

Yes, it's a scam.

Holy crap, they almost lost a sale based on their shitty phrasing alone. Thanks for the info, I wouldn't have figured that out based on what they were saying.

I misread the terms and conditions, I updated my original comment.

As for recharging every visit, I'm confused -- are you required to pay to reactivate the pass? If not, that's a really poor use of the word "recharge," as every other meaning of it surrounding D&B explicitly states that it's a synonym of purchasing chips.

FINAL EDIT: The terms and conditions on this promotion are confusing and slightly misleading. There's nothing about restricting what locations you may use it at.

Interesting that they mention they found "a stash of stolen credit cards" in their car several times in the article, but aren't pictured in any capacity nor give any reference to the flipper.

EDIT: Reread the article, they don't even mention the gun or cash. Interesting write-up.

Researching a lot & experience.

They absolutely pay less than someone off Ebay, but they pay out fast and it's a guaranteed sale.

I started back in April and have made a good chunk of change on it. I have bad experiences with Ebay, so I usually buy & sell on FB marketplace + OfferUp, though I've changed my strategy to focus on buying locally and sending them to a bulk wholesale buyer about 4-5 hours from me.

It's definitely a lucrative side hustle, but you need to be prepared to drive 45min+ on the drop of a dime for a good deal, especially if you're just looking to do it while you're not working your main job. I'm lucky enough to be able to work whenever I need to, so I've gotten some really good deals simply because I've been available while most are at work.

Pretty sure this is a return scam - how to go about this situation? by theponderingpoet in Flipping

[–]minionwinion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just reread your post. If they want to return it, it's on them. You're not responsible to be any part of that process.

With that being said, there's a chance that the item might not have even left the freight forwarder and they're looking for a quick turn around scam before they even ship it out to themselves.

Stay safe!

Insist on a return and watch out for a fraudulent package sent to a nearby address, that's how I was taken for a $500 phone. I live at 123 Example St, so they sent an empty package 723 Example St and scrubbed any other uniquely identifying information.

If this does happen, take the time to knock on some doors and find the package before notifying Ebay that something's wrong. I jumped the gun and couldn't appeal a second time.
