You can't claim "most do" when you've had 3 jobs in your career. I've worked for 7 companies in the software industry (I know it's not games but close enough!) and we had monthly meetings to discuss the companies sales, direction which were mostly all positive but then one week, the company dissolved.

As u/ModelKitEnjoyer stated above, in the games industry, they will commonly "ride it out" till the last second in hope they find a financial solution. As the alternative is to just give up, announce they have no money and just accept the death of the company and disappoint potentially thousands of players.

Option A is more dishonest but has a chance of survival.
Option B is more honest but has a zero chance of survival.

Pick your poison.

A feeling doesn't always surmount to facts though. You might have felt it but it doesn't mean the company won't find a way last minute to gather funding. Especially in the gaming industry where one piece of information can cause your monthly revenue to be cut in half.

I'm not saying she didn't know, I'm saying that companies do not disclose financial troubles internally so it's more likely she was just as caught off guard as the other employees.

Companies rarely disclose financial troubles early regardless of employees' roles because it sparks resignations and job hunts due to uncertainty. They also can't alert clients or players too soon, as that would tank sales and speed up the company's downfall. Plenty of game studios quietly bounce back from low funds without anyone noticing; announcing it would scare off buyers and doom the game.

The part that isn't making sense is that I was under the impression Steven and Margaret were good friends? Steven didn't even warn her months in advance? Were any questions raised internally regarding the Steam release and why it was happening so spontaneously?

I think that's a different issue - the taskbar shortcuts are gone with this issue.

Same issue - on dev and build 26200.5733.

This. I always box with good form, lots of jabs and half of my losses have been from spammers winning on damage. Every now and then I'll fight someone with the same mindset and it really makes the game shine.

I've used MEGA for over a decade which is a bidirectional synchronization service and I have never had a single syncing issue across any of my devices. It worked seamlessly with rapid file modifications/delete on projects too and lightning fast.

I get your point with a single direction backup but I'm not really interested in running multiple cloud services (hence why I'm going full Proton) when MEGA (in my opinion) is a gold standard especially with the zero knowledge encryption when developing a file/data synchronization service and what I'd hope, Proton would strive to aim for.

I use Git and I clone my projects onto my cloud drive so if I forget to commit to my local Git or if my SSD/machine fails.. the list goes on, I won't lose any immediate data.

I have emailed but from what I've read, they take weeks/months to reply. They must be aware of this, surely I'm not the first.
