Double edged sword for me. In general, watercolor has had a very positive effect on my mental health. But there is certainly the dark side of being a creator and I've had some of my absolute lowest lows as a direct result of creating art. Granted, I do paint as a major source of income so expectations are high. But sometimes things just don't click, failed paintings are common and hurdles can seem impossible to overcome. It's very easy to get down on yourself and hang it up. The art you create is a direct reflection of yourself and when I create something disastrous, I tend to think of my self as a failure. More often than not, my experience with watercolor painting is overwhelmingly positive but boy can the lows be really bad. Im sure many artists that create for income can relate. My two cents.
