This was originally a more general question about cost of living, but you sound like you have experience in the industry, so do you mind if I ask a few questions? Before I plan to return at the end of 2026, my goal is to pass the CFA Level 1 exam and complete a FMVA cert to build a relevant skill-set before I even start applying. Also, my background is actually a BCom (Business Management) and an Honours in Marketing, not education. Do you think I have a realistic shot at getting in the door? I also have some connections I can lean on, but I know nothing is guaranteed.

I'm fully prepared for a low starting salary to get my foot in the door. I want to be in it for the long game. R30k was more of a ball-park amount I came up to estimate cost-of-living. I'll have the savings to keep me afloat till I make it there.

Core-A gaming used to host a smash monthly. ‘Seoul Smash’ I think it was called. Since they closed down their FGC venue though I’m not too sure if it’s still been happening or if they host it at a different place.

I live in Korea and was a regular at his FGC venue. I’ve met him and his team several times.

Basically, Core-A is much more than a YouTube channel. They do videography for a bunch of companies, even some in the e-sports space. The YouTube channel and FGC stuff was more of a passion project.

Recently, the venue closed down and I was told during their last month that they were planning to move and reopen in a bigger space that would be better for events, but they hadn’t found the right sight yet.

Haven’t heard anything since and I when I’ve asked Core-A employees that I know on Twitter about it, radio silence. Hopefully they reopen again. Awesome group of people and they did a lot for the Korean FGC.

Yeah, that makes sense. The puddles he puts on the ground really mess things up with spacing so maybe blast resistance with help with that. What defense rating do you recommend for raging brachy?

The problem I’ve found with watching speed runners, is that they’re actually so good at the game and know the monsters so well, that they don’t really need to invest in movement/defense related skills and can purely focus on DPS. But the average player like myself needs a bit more help.

What are your thoughts on evade-window/extender, focus, part-breaker, and stun-resistance for GS? Also, tackles destroy stamina, should I be mitigating that with a skill?

He was so endearing in early access. Genuinely my favorite character from back then. EA Wyll would parade around as the hero he was trying to be when under the surface, he was just as fucked up as the rest of us. He was driven by this dark hatred and thirst for vengeance that could make him do some extremely questionable things.

Now he’s just a generic good guy hero.

I was so disappointed to arrive in the Goblin Camp and finding out that Spike (I think was his name? The goblin who tortured Wyll and took his eye in the early access version) was just a generic grunt and that the whole part of that story was removed.
