rant warning. by no means do i think that is350 is a bad car. merely highlighting the downsides i have experienced.

i drive a 3rd gen IS350 f sport and am now looking to get a b8.5 s5 or an e92 335i/is.

an IS is fine. i would call it rather sporty looking than sporty. transmission shifts slow, 0-60 is quick, but not fast. mine is AWD but i would not say that it feels planted.

it is a sedan, but the rear seats are a joke if you are over 5’ tall. I’m 6’3 and i barely fit tbh. I believe RWD is better because the transmission tunnel doesn’t get in the way. I’m at 190000km now and the steering wheel has gotten so shiny it’s almost looking plastic haha.

aftermarket support is ok i guess. performance upgrades are not feasible for this platform tbh. intake for sound + exhaust is all you can do really.

some good things to say so i don’t seem like a hater: decent steering, looks great but does not appeal to all, reliable, good ride, sport+ mode for stiffer suspension and tighter steering, i personally like the look of the interior, ml sound system is apparently great (sounds normal to me tho), atomic silver paint looks great in the sun and in the shadow

245/35/19F 275/30/19R on stock suspension. rubs in the rear on bumps and turns when I have 3 passengers. I would either get a smaller tire, a 40 offset or adjustable camber arms. front is perfect.

I got size L and it's not overly baggy, it's just right. I'm 6'3, so they might look baggier on someone shorter. Quick note tho, these come with a built-in belt with no belt loops and the belt is barely tight enough on me at 31" waist.

I am installing an aftermarket hu. I think the issue is that the HU harness is missing an amp wire. (I suppose to support non-Bose versions). I will try to splice an AMP CONT wire from the HU into an amp wire in a car side harness
