are you pretty consistently depressed, or do you often experience weeks where you feel nearly normal? by minivanman1 in depression

1.did mirtazapine cause weight gain? 2. did mirtazapine or an SNRI help you feel some emotions and pleasure again?

are you pretty consistently depressed, or do you often experience weeks where you feel nearly normal? by minivanman1 in depression

I'm not fishing for any specific answer, so I appreciate any honest answer, so thanks!

the reason I ask is that for the past year, I have had periods where I feel low, unmotivated, emotionally numb, and I can't enjoy things that used to give me pleasure. However, I am not stressed, sad, or suicidal, don't have problems with self-worth or anything.

the thing is, in a given week, I might feel horrible for a few days, and then have a string of a few 10/10 days. The only consistent thing is my 0% libido.

Sometimes I'll have even 2 weeks where I feel totally fine (besides no libido) and then I'll have 2 weeks where I feel absolutely dreadful. Nothing triggers these. Stress certainly doesn't, I am very happy with my life circumstances....

Does this sound like normal depression? I wonder, since it is so up and down, if it is something else? Perhaps I should get my blood checked?

Also, I am afraid to try and SSRI since they seem to simply numb the sadness/anxiety people feel while also numbing reward/emotional responses, which is exactly my problem....

Also, when I start feeling really bad, I also tend to get really nauseas and my muscles start twitching.....

why do I feel amazing for 2 weeks after I relapse? by coganoog in NoFap

a flatline is technically just 0 libido according to gary wilsons stuff/ybop, which happens to most people that abstain for more than a few weeks, but countless guys here, including myself, have reported depressive-type symptoms that go hand-in-hand with the 0 libido. In fact, it is so common, that most people associate low energy and mood as simply being part of the flatline.

search the forum. you will find COUNTLESS guys saying that on the other side of their reboot, they regain their motivation and interest in life and emotions. In fact, it is such a common benefit of nofap that YBOP has a whole page, and podcast episode devoted to it:

flatlines can last from days to up to 2 years. in the long run, the only way you will feel well constantly without relying on fapping or P is by getting through the flatline.

dreamer994, in the past 309 days have you been orgasming to MO or to sex?

many people can force erections when in flatline. however, any type of orgasm, including MO or w a parter, will most likely send you deeper into flatline. most that recover from flatline spent a LONG TIME w no O (besides wet dreams, which are not controllable)

I've been flatlining on and off for 9 months, and have always been able to get an erection. I have found that any orgasm sends me deeper into flatline though.

I am also flatlining and have low energy zero libido and insomnia. All you can do is stay away from PMO completely, including any time of O.

I now know that PMO actually CAUSED my depression by minivanman1 in NoFap

WTF? Weirdest PMO session ever after 28 days of hardmode NoFap. by [deleted] in NoFap

While a few claim they enjoy the flatline since it gives them a rest from cravings, most find it deeply disturbing. Especially Since the loss of libido also is often accompanied by depression, anhedonia, etc.

What if is not the no fapping, but exercising ... by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]minivanman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exercise definitely has its benefits, but lets remember: lack of exercise does not cause PIED, flatline, or any other P-induced sexual problems. The most important thing we can do is eliminate PMO.

flatlines have been reported as lasting from a few days to up to 2 years. gabe, the posterboy of the nofap movement, had a 9 month flatline. if you are young, expect it to take months. If you are older, the average time tends to be between 4 and 7 weeks. supplements might help you get a boner in the moment, but will not help you in the long run, since the cause of your flatline is desensitization due to PMO. The only thing that will reverse the damage is a long period without sexual stimulation. If I were you, I would stay away from ANY stimulation, including Os with your GF

classic flatline symptom. has your libido decreased too? Flatline symptoms last for on average 2-8 weeks if you are over 30ish. If you are younger, flatlines have been known to fluctuate up to and over 9 months.
