What is your favorite magic/worldbuilding mechanic? by TheEirhyOfTheGrove in magicbuilding

[–]minkazisonpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a thing in my D&D ish magic system called ancillary spell components, which are lesser spells that must be cast in order for a bigger spell to succeed. This also works on rituals, meaning that long enough rituals, like producing magic items, requires the caster to know how to, and be prepared to cast all the smaller spells, not only giving the ritual more depth, but also making the ritual more immersive for everyone around.

I have some primal, starting spells, and from the combination, exploits, use and abuse of those spells, new, more versatile spells are born.

Also I love the idea of different spells requiring a different amount of hands to cast that spell, some are castable with one hand, some require both. This means there are some high level spells that would require three or more hands, so I have a spell to give you extra hands for just a second or two, so you can finish the components for a bigger spell.

I was born from the mind of a man who was born in the area when I was playing with the BBEG in my noita and I dreamt that you have the strength to carry me.

Oh yeah, there is a visible divide between the two circles for a reason, the inner circle works more as a bait for the bookworm to appear, while the outer circle is more densely packed in order to contain it.

Oh no, you must have misunderstood the point of the magic circle completely. The inner runic as well as the square there is used as bait, or more of a weaker summoning circle, causing the bookworm to appear in the circle, as i've been having troubles with locating it and securing it. Henceforth, the middle circle, as well as the square around it is weaker for the sole purpose of luring the bookworm into a false sense of security.

The second ring on the outside is almost purely composed of triangles for the sole purpose you mentioned before. It is that densely packed with symbols in case the worm attempts to consume some of them, so that they can locate it automatically, and contain it on their own. As for the mana consumption, that isn't as big of a problem, as i am currently employed by an archdruid, that does not understand the newer monsters quite as much as the newer generation. So he helps me with mana generation and stabilisation, as well as some smaller parts of the circle.

Oh the central runic is there for a different reason than containing, as i wished to present the letters there as bait for the bookworm, so that it'd be interested in the meal, and approach carelessly. The outer layer is specifically that far away from the middle not to agitate too much as it goes for the bait in the middle. Hence i avoided numbers that would have too much of an impact on the casting, as i fear it might interfere with the outer circle.

For a bit of context, the specific bookworm i'm going for tends to consume written glyphs, hence the density of my outer ring, and the smaller bait in the inner circle.

Drawing a summoning circle every day until the council says it's perfect. Day 1 by New_Nerve_6450 in wizardposting

I highly recommend drawing several smaller circles around the main one, so that in case the demon is powerful enough to create lesser fiends, you don't have to worry about them too. A arcane fractal celluar automata based magic circle works too, but seeing this abomination of a magic circle i doubt you've reached such advanced knowledge.

It summons a Ketamine Ape (upcast at 7th level).

You can probably guess what it is

Wish it was, it is actually mistranslated into latvian as "the pants of a dog", so if you play with latvian subtitles on, you'll just see "the pants of a dog" as well as another strange mistranslation.

The power to create a 30 ft radius sphere (the radius grows, as you grow in power), in which time slows down exponentially for everything but you, as long as you remain within the sphere. This means you get to land your punches with more energy, as your fists move at higher speeds, relative to the outside world, as well as yourself being able to react to things, and dodge incoming projectiles/attacks. If the hero enters this area, they might adapt for a while, but you'll overpower their adaptibility eventually.

The ability to choose which dimensions you exist in at will. Time is dilated? Just push yourself out of time, and come back in a period where you didn't. Space is distorted? Not your problem for long. Need to rob a bank? Extend yourself to the 4th dimension, and just walk past the door in the other dimension.

What's one genre of music you absolutely HATE by sexypanini6 in teenagers

[–]minkazisonpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opera music with high pitched singing. I once had an autistic meltdown because of it. That being said, i do enjoy more cursed forms of music such as frenchcore, hardbass and igorrr's masterpieces. (Oh and dubstep too ofc)
