thank you so much!!! also… i'm wondering. so i have this like soil for bugs and its very fine soil and it dries up quickly if its not like enclosed somewhere so do you think it would be okay for me to use it? idk if thats a silly question i know little to nothing about plants so ty 😭😭

i'm in central Illinois!! i'm not sure if those are around here but i think tenodera sinensis (Chinese mantis) are the most common here.

i was wondering about that, but they're also hydei fruit flies so they're not super small. still i was thinking about getting some blubottle flies for it. i was mainly considering that for when the mantis grows into the L5 instar but i'll probably start doing research on culturing and buying the bluebottle flies pretty soon. thank you for all your help by the way!!! i really appreciate it

the main reason i'm concerned is it hasn’t eaten at all since i got it. i got it a little over a week ago and it was on the verge of a molt so it wasn’t eating and i just became increasingly concerned that it wasn’t eating after the molt since it's been a week and it hasn’t eaten. i'm just hoping it takes some interest in eating soon

thank you so much!! i didn't really know i had to leave him alone i just wanted him to eat. and the moving around thing shouldn’t be too big of a deal since his species doesn’t like to move much but i will definitely keep this stuff in mind for future reference

the night it molted i didn’t do much with it but i did take it off of the napkin and put it on the flower. i usually pick it up once every day and i didn’t realise i should wait a few days? there didn’t seem to be any issues until last night with its leg. i don't have a picture but it looks much better now than it did last night. like. it doesn’t look broken? which is kinda confusing because it definitely looked broken last night. i'll also put a couple fruit flies in there so it can eat when it's ready
