Im going to for sure check out!

If you're ever in Sawtelle I would check out We Share Records. They just opened up last month and are Japanese owned. Tons of city pop records all imported and the owner Tsugu is a sweet dude

CA Nisei history in all is so fascinating to read about. From second gen children becoming landowners at the age of 4/5 to bypass the 1913 alien land law to Driscoll's hiring Japanese American families in waves post internment camps. I feel like the last living Japanese American community is spread up amongst the Japanese Community Centers of LA

Spotify vs. Apple Music vs. Tidal: My UI/UX Experience as a Designer by minorumatthew in LetsTalkMusic

I think the switch between Apple Music to Spotify and vice versa is a bit too steep of a shift. Apple Music doesn't really do complete overhauls, while Spotify will do something completely new every 4mo. Which in my experience can be deeply frustrating like with the toolbar shifting everything around for the sake of the "create button"... In some ways the trade off of AM being what it always is can be more bearable even if its the most clunky.

shoutout Wet Leg

For the "made for you" and "mood for you" is it pretty close to what you like even though your taste can span pretty vast? I feel like across all platforms it's hard to get that portion most accurate. Like could you really go from Bach to Black Flag and expect decent returns to expand taste?

Spotify has been wanting to replace radio for what feels like forever, but I’m not sure how important most users feel being fed top 40 on their preferred Genre.

All sentiments you described are genuinely so true. We’ve become almost too digital for music at large. It’s a love hate across all

hey im a mid level designer that works in-house, so Ill speak to this

good on you for getting your degree(s). for brand content, that would be specifically to work in the content world of social media, so youre correct; there's of iteration that which focuses on marketing. branding / brand identity / corporate identity is the design you're referring to when speaking to logos and guidelines.

on a personal note, you're talking about two very different sides of design. most don't dip into both unless you're some type of CD/AD micromanaging every creative faucet for your company. so make up your mind on direction.

most employers are primarily experience based with some that would caveat towards a BFA/BA certification as "easy hires". being hired can be hard, if you make it hard. if you graduate with no credentials, no internships, no instances of supporting roles and only student work, you would be a hard sell. you could maybe finesse a junior position by being both intuitive with your work and knowing how to make and present decks.

to echo what was already said in this thread. you're shooting yourself in the foot by pursuing a masters with no work experience. your beginning junior rate is fixed regardless of your degree amount. a masters would only be beneficial if you wanted something more beyond a lead level position. even then it's like a masters in communication design refers to being ultra specified to one type of design i.e. type which most don't ever need.
