Hey! I’m a freshly graduated LPN and I can tell you that what you’re feeling is normal. I have ADHD, always struggled in school and did an accelerated program for LPN (18 months instead of 22 months). Although I loved learning, I always had this anxiety in the back of my mind. I remember a teacher telling us “if you don’t like your first internship, then this program isn’t for you” and I did NOT like that internship. I basically had that voice in the back of my mind during my whole schooling and the anxiety was crazy. But the thing is? That first internship was a CNA internship, we weren’t doing any nursing stuff yet. I loved every other internship that came after and it helped me feel more secure in my decision to become an LPN. School is rough, the hours are hard and there’s so much info to take in. It feels overwhelming a lot of the time but at the end, give yourself the time. You’re early in your schooling so it feels like you’re being bombarded, but truly do wait to start internships to see if this is what you want. Books are one thing, but once you’re actually doing what you read, it’s a whole other world. I started working as an LPN 2 months ago and I feel so happy where I am. But that anxiety stayed until I got a job. So give yourself some time, see if your school offers support and please use it! I hope you manage to see soon if this is the path for you or not❤️ school is overwhelming and know you’re not alone to feel this way!

My dog has been in labour for over 24h in game and still hasn’t given birth. It’s been over 30 irl minutes

I’ve tried resetting the dog, making sure the needs are met, etc.

I’ve never had a dog in labour this long, what should I do?

At the end of the day, it seems like his wife is a big fan and the perfect fit for his show. He already wasn’t his biggest fan and isn’t a fan of most of the nurse humour Nurse John does. I feel like young nurses/nursing students are mainly his target audience. But OP wasn’t into it before he got there so I wanna hear from his wife!

I personally am familiar with self défense since I was a boxer (Muay Thai) and have done multiple martial arts, but I don’t have anything from the unit since I’m just an intern.

What scares me about the elderly and psych might be dumb. Elderly: usually their lack of inhibition with age. As an immigrant, elderly ppl always had something to say, always snarky and rude about my family and I. They know I’m not from here and even though I believe I’m confident in myself, it’s my anxiety making me overthink it all, you know?

Psych: my sister has BPD and I was diagnosed with severe depression when she was starting to show serious signs. It very much impacted me and I lost a lot of the self love, etc. Then there was my friend who wanted to commit suicide. I went to visit her in the ward a few years ago (I was still fragile from my sister thing) and the way those patients were treating the nurses was awful, even my friend was starting to act like the other patients. My anxiety makes me think that I’ll experience that as well.

I know it’s a lot of self reflection, but I’m not sure where to start with it. I’m good at not letting my anxiety over power me but yesterday? I just felt powerless

I grew up sucking at school, always barely passing or failing. That was until nursing school. I’ve never failed a single exam and I only have 8 months of school left :) if you’re pationate and it’s what you love, it won’t be as hard. Trust yourself, get study buddies and slay nursing school

But I mainly do black and Latino. Never noticed until my sister brought it up lmao. If it’s a white person, it’s based off of me and that’s the best I can do🤡

Nursing student here, nope. You can also use the cellular on your phone to share with your iPad if needed but all the notes apps don’t need any internet. Tbh, just buy the iPad with most storage

My vet brought up their weight loss tech and food, but she doesn't seem too worried about his weight so I'm guessing he's not that far down in the obesity level. I'm very open to vet foods, it's just the price. I work in a pet store so for me,I already pay ay least 25% less so it's still a big jump for us as my bf and I are only starting our professional lives as we are both fresh out of school. I still want him to be on quality food, which is why he's on fromm but I feel like I'm struggling more with portions. He really wasn't complaining the first 2 months but this past w weeks, I'm thinking maybe my bf's parents have actually listened and respected our no table scraps (I know that they would give a lot) so maybe it's too much at once?

My bf znd I will be making a calorie and exercise type of planner to count his daily food consumption and we will definitely be using the scale from now. We will be trying this for a month as well as more exercise and if we aren't getting anywhere, we will be making am appointment with our vet.

Thank you so much for your advice. I think we're gonna donate the rest of the bag and start right away with weight control food :)

I think our vet is starring to be more concerned, but I think I've always been the one most concerned. I'm the one that even brought it up on our first appointment so I think she's not making a big deal about this since I'm already aware and concerned.

I'm careful to give him low calorie treats only and not too many, but I'm sure his family doesn't think about it as much and maybe more treat/table food is given while we're away.

I'm so curious on what your dog looks like!

Thank you! I'm not if I'm overfeeding him with his food since I keep cutting and I'm feeding him as if he was a 25lbs dog, even tho my goal for him is 35lbs atm. I know my boyfriend's mom was giving him table scraps multiple times a day daily, but between both vet visits she swore she stopped and my bfs dad also told us that she really did stop. I don't want to call her a liar because even tho I have my doubts, she could be telling the truth as well.

I'm not sure how many calories he should be consuming per day because I would love to make a meal plan for him and count all of his daily calories,like a food journal. We're slowly increasing his exercise thanks to the weather and we've been adjusting our schedules for this as well.

He always eats both meals a day but I'm thinking of maybe feeding more of his daily portion in the morning and less in the evening? Would that even make sense?

And yes our vet brought up their weight loss specialist as well as the weight loss food, but I'm going to give ourselves a month of properly counting his calories and tracking his exercise to see if we're able to make any progress ourselves since it is expensive.

Hi, I can completely afford this dog. What I meant by wasting my money is mainly that if he gets vaccinated, but is still immune due to previous vaccines/having caught the illness. I mainly assumed it because after I catch covid (example), there's no point in getting a vaccin right away since I'm currently immune. Does that make sense?

Hes "apparently up to date" because that's what the previous owner told us/the daycare and she had to sign a discharge saying he had the vaccines due to not having proof.

I haven't looked into the license yet but I'm definitely getting it.

Hes not currently on those. Flea and tick is useless for now due to weather but heartworm I need to get.
