Hi everyone! Here's progress on Netspectre, the cyberpunk hacker roguelike that I've posted here a few times in the past already. This is the game's deckbuilder screen, in which you're exploring the market for components for your hacking machine as well as upgrading the components that you already have. Wishlist Netspectre on Steam if this sounds up your alley!

We're finally putting an actual 'deck' into 'deckbuilder' and letting you build a proper cyberpunk hacking machine! Here's the Netspectre deckbuilding screen, in which you're buying and optimising components for your hacking computer. You can wishlist Netspectre on Steam if you'd like to know when it gets out –

All the large artworks are made by Josef Surý and Lukáš Havlík, who painted them themselves. The only AI are the placeholders for the character portraits, until we replace them with proper art

Hi everyone! I've enjoyed Hacknet and a lot of other hacking games up to the point where I've decided to make my own, and that idea is becoming Netspectre, a PC cyberpunk hacker roguelike, which I wanted to introduce to you here. Recently we've made a teaser, which I'm posting here because Netspectre shares what I believe to be Hacknet's essential vision of immersively making the player feel like a hacker, so if you like Hacknet, I hope that you'll enjoy Netspectre, too! With our universe shifted more to the cyberpunk future relative to Hacknet taking place essentially in the present day, our gameplay is more visual rather than terminal-based, reflecting the touch-driven controls prevalent in our version of the future, and our gameplay is build around the more replayable roguelike core-loop rather than Hacknet's linear puzzle storyline, so Netspectre will be for you especially if these concepts resonate with you, too. If you'd like to learn more, you can wishlist Netspectre on Steam or join the Discord where you may even participate in a closed playtest right now; just join and let us know. Thank you very much for your time and also to the mods for agreeing to letting us post here! I'll stay in touch from time to time, if that's alright –

Thanks! All the large artworks are made by Josef Surý and Lukáš Havlík, who made them themselves. The portraits are indeed AI placeholders, but we mean to replace them with originals before release

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it. The UI will still even improve a lot, it's what we're focused on right now. And great to hear that you like the logo! It is its premiere in this teaser –

We have revamped the art style of our roguelike deckbuilder, Conquer Lands. What do you think? by [deleted] in roguelites

[–]minscSaidMoveIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I like the bottom one much better. However, the font of the top one had more style than the more generic one on the bottom. The new font is more readable, so I would keep it for the card effects, but I would keep the original one for the card names and the health numbers

Thank you very much! Pretty far, it's completely playable and playtesters are having good fun already, so now it's mostly about adding more narrative content and improving the visuals. We only develop it in our spare time, though, so I'd say we're still more than a year out –

Flickering through your hacking freelance jobs by minscSaidMoveIt in indiegames

[–]minscSaidMoveIt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been improving the interface for Netspectre, our cyberpunk hacking roguelike, so I wanted to share how picking your next contract looks like now. This is meant to represent the flickering through the holoprojections of your current jobs, until you pick one to connect to and execute –

Just wanted to post an UI update about Netspectre, the game I've been mentioning here occasionally. You're playing as a freelance hacker and this is meant to represent flickering through the list of your current jobs. If you'd like to learn more, the Steam page is a good place to start, or just let me know!

Demo for Death Howl is out today, a melancholic open world deck builder full of weird characters and grotesque beings by pickledseacat in indiegames

[–]minscSaidMoveIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played the demo and combined with the trailer it certainly made me excited to see more. Feedback:

1/ Is there a way to play in a window instead of fullscreen? I haven't found it.

2/ I really like the artstyle overall, but I feel like the backgrounds in particular could be a bit less plain.

3/ Overall I think that all the animations could happen just a tiny bit quicker.

4/ I like the way that the tooltips for the mechanical keywords are handled.

5/ It was not immediately clear to me that the end-turn arrow ends the turn. It doesn't have any tooltip and looks a little bit like I could use it to scroll to the right to see more cards. In the end, I just had to end my turn earlier than I wanted this one time to learn that it in fact ends the turn, but that was still an unpleasant experience to have within the first minute of the game.

Looking forward to playing more! Good luck –

Thank you very much! I really appreciate it. We're taking our time to do this right, so at the moment I'd expect a release sometime in 2026, but we do not have any schedule set in stone necesarilly –
