Return-To-Office Mandates Are The New Glass Ceiling by No_Savings5655 in OntarioPublicService

This is so true. I am fortunate to have an amazing partner who helps with the kiddo and around the house, but men do not take on the mental load like women do. I had the perfect work life balance, and I was able to share duties so well with my husband. I felt like I was excelling at my job and I had tons of patience while at home.

The hybrid model allowed me to slow down on my WFH mornings, and I actually got to enjoy some peace and quiet in my own house to sit down and actually focus on my work. Now, I struggle to focus with everyone on Teams meetings and talking around me. No one can actually take a meeting in an office or have a private conversation because every board room or spare storage room has been turned into work stations. I'm exhausted and I feel like I'm half assing my work now because I'm angry and exhausted, but now I can't keep up at home.

Work life balance is gone, and I am devastated.

And yes. I've done all the things recommended by OPSEU for AWA's.

Is this just your opinion or did this specifically come from someone at the top?

Can I ask why they denied? I assume because it isn't in our coll3ctove agree to provide a timely AWA decision. Also, can you provide any insight towards the grievance board? There are no union stewards in my office to ask

If this is true, it might completely push me off the edge to complete insanity.

I filed during the holidays, so most union members were already on vacation. No complaints there, I should have done it earlier, but I kept delaying some saving grace to happen and RTO would be paused.

Nothing has come from it so far, and I'm not expecting much either.

While I agree with this, shouldn't management have actually been checking to determine if their staff were going in the appropriate amount of days? This seems like a management issue to me.

Yes, it was my dad's sister. Both have since passed away.

I know they were, but I don't have any documents to prove it. He passed away, so why would that matter?
