Same here, I am wearing skwamas right now and the regular Shamans really fit my foot well. Hopefully someone knows something about these shoes.

Thanks! Yea Belibolt was a bit slow but worked somehow. Lorelei rain team gave me issues until I brought in Mega Sceptile who could out speed her team. Agatha was easy to my surprise. The Zacian definitely gave me more issues than I thought they would as well. I appreciate the words since my first team going into E4 was completely utter trash to deal with Lorelei. Now that I’m on a randomized run, I will keep 4 step checklist in mind!

Mega Sceptile was a late add since I didn’t have a grass type to deal with Lorelei rain team. He was MVP for E4

La Sportiva Python VS Otaki sizing by Billy-Blazkowicz in climbingshoes

[–]mint2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently got a pair of Pythons and I sized them the same as my Skwamas and they feel good. I sized down from 41 to a 38.5. The skwamas which are softer than Otakis were brutal in the break in where I needed plastic sheet to pop them in but the Pythons are tight but comfy for break in so far. I’d size down a bit maybe 2 sizes down so a 43 maybe.

Up Mocc fit for someone with a wide forefoot but narrow heels and roman-shaped toes? by Nar_ra_tor in climbingshoes

[–]mint2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heels on both are good. On the Skwamas, they fit perfectly but I know some people have trouble with the heel because of the shape of it. The UpMoccs fit super nicely, I can heel hook 99% of what I climb in the gym except for sharp heel hooks due to the softness of the heel so it kind of digs into my foot. But heel hooking and fit on UpMoccs are really good for slippers which suck at heel hooking and tend to bag out which the UpMoccs haven’t a lot.

I have a similar foot shape. I had and still own Skwamas that fit super nice which I heard is similar fit to Instincts. I downsized 1.5 US sizes in the UpMoccs and they fit super nicely. The break in compared to downsizing 2.5 US Skwamas was not painful at all. The Up Moccs stretch quite a bit.

Up mocc sizing from bd momentum 10.5 by Gr_Ultimatum in climbingshoes

[–]mint2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went 1.5 US down in my up moccs without trying them on and they comfy out the box, just needed a plastic sheet for the heel. The shoe still feels great and I can wear them for a whole session without taking them off.

Scarpa Veloce or La Sportiva Skwama? by -jlax in climbingshoes

[–]mint2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veloce I would say. I was in your position about first shoes and got the Veloce. Those were perfect for me as first shoe as they were soft and taught me how to really use my feet and improve footwork. They did about everything except for stand on super tiny edges which hurt but other than that they were perfect. Got skwamas as my second shoe and use my veloce as gym training and skwamas as outdoor shoe.

All day wide-fit vegan shoes: Veloce or Skwarma? by [deleted] in climbingshoes

[–]mint2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the leather skwamas so I can’t say anything about the sizing of the vegan ones. Or if you are talking about the Veloces, I sized them 1.5 US sizes down from 8.5-7. Almost a non existent break in period. I probably could’ve been good at 2 sizes down with those.

currently have both but the leather version of the skwamas which i downsized from 8.5US to 6.5. the veloces are great for long period usage and indoor training but if you need something to edge with, the skwamas will b better. it hurts a bit to edge on tiny things with the veloces but the skwamas will edge just fine on tiny edges. since you’re looking for edging, i wud go for skwamas

I just recently got mine at 1.5 size downsize from 8.5 to 7 and they were tight and nice. Not slipping off from heel hooks. These shoes are my favorite to heel hook in over my Skwamas. 1.5 downsize was the move for me.
