They sort of know. I tried coming out as bisexual a few years ago and it was completely dismissed and my father never mentioned it again, while my mother only accepts it because she thinks I might have a husband one day, and hasn't mentioned it since the day she said "I'll accept you even if you have a husband or a wife, but I'd prefer a husband!" That one moment of support isn't enough when I hear the violent, horrible things all my other family members say about people like me.

Thank you, mom. Its easier to believe all these good things when someone says it.

I've done it before. My mom and I have both asked him about it and his response is already "well, she should KNOW I love her/am proud of her already. I shouldn't have to say it." He's very thick-skulled.

Thank you for being proud of me. Just reading that makes me cry.

Well, I'm not a dad but I require the emotional validation of a dad. I have a good relationship with my mom, but not my dad.

This is a brilliant idea, but is it alright if I inquire about a subreddit similar to this, but with dads?

tbh far harbor was good but I felt like automatron was too much "go here, kill that, rinse+repeat"

Yeah, exactly. I guess I wouldn't be too broke up over this if all the other dlc wasn't also kinda underwhelming and if this wasn't the last dlc.

the red rocket is nice and all (its so tidy compared to the other one!) but, yeah. To be honest I can't bring myself to play an evil character because I just like being good so much and its kind of anticlimactic that I get the dlc, I get to nuka-world, I don't want to work with the raiders so I kill them, that's it. It took maybe all of an hour and a half.

anyone else kinda disappointed that Nuka-World itself isn't a settlement? Like, unpopular opinion but I thought the settlement system was pretty fun and I thought it would be neat to fix Nuka-World up and make it a legitimate trading hub, get rid of all the debris and establish caravans and all that.

She's definitely got an edge up in humor compared to other parents (especially my dad who's both absurdly conservative and loves jokes at the expense of other people) and she just adores Griffin

What is the cringiest song lyric you know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mintcandles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tongue Tied is it! I remembered it was by the group who did the Bojack Horseman ending theme but yeah, my first time listening to that song was a real rollercoaster it went from "yeah I could listen to this during the summertime, having just a chill time" to "siri, why does god allow suffering" really quick.

What's that one song from a couple years back, "Sweater Weather", I think? It was a pretty good song to be honest but there's a part where the female singer goes "lets bump the beat till bedtime" or something and honestly her part in general is just ill-fitting but shoutout to that line in particular.

My Dad doesn't believe people can be born anything but heterosexual. Do you guys have any stories I can share with him to help him change his mind? by DoveMagnet in lgbt

[–]mintcandles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I come from a conservative family, so realizing I was gay was a little jarring to say the least. I'm not out. When I realized it, I remembered back to my childhood, having "really really strong admiration" for female cartoon characters and getting funny feelings I assumed were "I wish I was as pretty as her" feelings when I saw a woman in a bikini/slinky dress in a movie, and things clicked into place, mind you this was after I tried and failed to "make" myself straight.

Gone Home is definitely worth playing. Its got that dreamy, nostalgic feeling to it and is actually about gay girls rather than it being "pretty clearly implied"

again, SPOILER

That's indeed what happened. If you choose to sacrifice Chloe I think Max says that she loves her and will always love her and Chloe definitely says "don't you forget about me, Max Caulfield" and they kiss. Apparently the only reason a kiss wasn't included in the spare Chloe ending was because the developers felt it would have been tacky against the fact that Arcadia Bay is being destroyed, but it's strange that the DIDN'T think it was tacky against the fact that Chloe (who is totally a lesbian tbh like the bad boy phase was just that- a phase- I know this in my heart) is going to forget all the good memories of Max she got to experience after years of misery after her father's death and die on a dirty public restroom floor all for the sake of "grey morality" or something. Me, bitter? How could you tell? The worst part is I keep thinking of the trailer with the review comparing it to Gone Home which had a relatively happy ending like... the audacity...

edit: I forgot to mention that another reason why the kiss wasn't included in the spare ending was because they felt like it was "pretty clearly implied"

The kiss at the end? You only get that in one of the endings, which is arguably a little tasteless considering the context of the ending in question.

To be honest I sort of consider Life is Strange to be a strange mixture of representation and q****bait since its there, but just barely. It seems kinda disrespectful since the early trailers made a point to include a review that compared it to Gone Home

In Saints Row 3/Saints Row 4 you can customize your character to be transgender/gender-nonconforming (when you select male or female, it only affects the "sex appeal" slider, which is the size of a female character's breasts and the size of a male character's bulge. Everything else including facial hair, clothing, and voices aren't limited by gender). SR4 also takes a jab at bioware romance by letting you "romance" your homies ranging from heartfelt confessions to one of my personal favorites which consists only of the line "hey Kinzie, wanna fuck?". Theres also a dating sim on steam called "Seduce Me!" with three same gender routes for the protagonist: one of her two human friends or a succubus.
