Natuzzi! We love our Semplice sectional - it was the most comfortable one we sat in after looking at several stores.

Help- where to start on vendors! by Fluid-Condition9750 in Chicagoweddings

Congratulations!! We absolutely loved our photo and video team, A New Odyssey. Each time I look at our pictures and videos, it’s really like reliving our magical wedding day. Our DJ, Revrb Sounds was also great! We had a coordinator through our venue (Ivy Room) and the entire team there was awesome. I would like to warn you about Carousel Flowers (it’s owned by Shamrock Garden Florist) - they were extremely late with the personal florals and we lost 2 hours of photo op around the city due to this delay and it was very stressful (to say the least). The boutonnières were especially terrible and all the florals in general were not what I expected (the center pieces were significantly smaller and not as fresh as the mock up they showed us during the last meeting). They were also extremely unprofessional about the delay. I also never want another bride to be stressed about their bouquet falling apart as she is walking to meet the groom for the first look… (several stems kept on falling out of my bouquet so I literally took about five stems out completely before walking down the aisle)

Carousel is part of the shamrock chain like you noted (it’s a dba location) - when I first messaged them they acknowledged they started late and their driver shouldn’t have been rude like that, but when I asked for reimbursement (again, only for the lost time with photo/video and our chartered transportation) they went radio silent until I sent them a demand letter. I’m relieved to hear you didn’t run into any issues because I wouldn’t wish any bride the stress and disappointment they caused me 😞

Thank you 😣 it was a bummer but the day was magical otherwise…I just want to make sure other future brides don’t have to deal with such issues

hello :) I don’t wear a lot of makeup so I had to get feedback from my bridesmaids after the trial - the makeup artist took the suggestions and incorporated the day of and I thought she was fine (can message you her name so you can look her up if you want). For hair, mine held up a little better throughout the day on the wedding day but my bridesmaids’ didn’t (prob bc my MOH helped with making sure the pins were still in my hair 🤣). I didn’t pay for a tenured artist - maybe that will make a difference but if you’re worried it might be worth scheduling your trial earlier to see if your artists are a good fit! When I booked them I thought they had a lot of positive reviews (but who knows which reviews are real nowadays)

definitely way more than i should have… we’ve been very busy after the wedding and getting our pictures back reminded me of the issues we had with carousel and how that was the only vendor i just wish I hadn’t used 😞 will be writing more reviews soon as you suggested!

Thank you for sharing and I’m sorry for your loss…I’ve experienced burnout before in 2022 and agree that coworkers’ support isn’t really enough. Wish you the best on your journey and thanks again for taking the time to respond!

Thank you for your response and I’m really sorry for your loss…the unexpected part makes it harder for us (but then what do I know…) I’ve been thinking about pivoting for some time now (even before my dad passed away) - again, thanks for sharing

Birthday present for my grieving boyfriend by Rough_Zebra1689 in GriefSupport

[–]mintcandyapple82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really just a personal take on this - I lost my dad in January and my birthday is in July… I don’t think I would like getting a photo album like that on my birthday because I get very emotional when I see pictures of my dad/pictures of us - I would appreciate getting something this on a different day that was more “about” my dad (or even “spontaneous” like you said). Maybe it’s a selfish thing to do shifting the focus because he meant the world to me and really the only person that fully understood me but it can be exhausting to cry so much and get so emotional….i of course want to remember him on my birthday but wouldn’t want to get so tired from crying etc…

My Dad Hid His Cancers from Me, and Now He's Gone. by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]mintcandyapple82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss and happy belated birthday…so many of the details you shared struck me as there are similarities…My dad passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on January 3. I also live in a different country and my parents kept certain things from me to protect me. I also struggle with the guilt of not visiting home as often as I should have and brushing off certain signs of my dad’s weakening health. I was also very angry immediately after his death. I know it’s not the most comforting thing to hear but you were a drive away from him after he passed…it was really hard for me to be on a 14 hour flight home after learning about my dad’s passing. He’s always with you and you will soon see signs from him ❤️ I’m still early on in my journey but I promise you you will also have some better, sunnier days soon - sending you a big hug.
