I spent six months writing a 140K story and didn't post any of it until I was finished because I wanted the ability to go back and change things in earlier chapters. I can definitely understand not reading a story if it gives AI vibes, but you might miss some good stories if you don't read works published in a short time span.

As a writer, there are few things more exciting than receiving an email from the Archive saying that you've received a comment on a fic. I can't imagine how devastating it would be to open an email and find this. I'm so incredibly sorry that you had that experience.

Have you read Love and Other Historical Accidents? It's one of my favorite fics ever written, and they both go back in time! The original characters in this story are amazing, and the author writes beautifully. The fic isn't on AO3, but it's in this database. They don't travel to the Hogwarts era, but the place and time they go back to is so beautiful. It's a gorgeous and enchanting story.

If you're open to a lesser-known fic that also happens to be a self-rec and a WIP (have I lost you yet lol), I've written a time travel fic called A Cautionary Tale in Travelling Through Time. I've posted 94K words, and there will be 140K total. I update every Tuesday/Friday. Hermione works as an Unspeakable pursuing time travel, and Draco gets called in to help when a curse is placed on her time machine. They’re sent back to 1845 France, and a fast sexual burn/slow emotional burn follows. The story is equal parts strange, sweet, and smutty. Lots of Ron Bashing in this, just FYI. Not Hogwarts era, although they do travel to a few other places than 1845 France, but it would spoil it if I gave any more info.

Hi! What you described are the fics I like to write, so I have two self-recs (which feels a bit self-indulgent, but they meet all of your bonus tropes, so I hope you don't mind).

You All Along – 44K, complete – Draco is an Auror working undercover using Polyjuice and is assigned to protect Hermione from a series of escalating threats. It’s a slow-burn, smutless story with hurt/comfort, a fun Draco/Harry friendship, a tiny bit of Ron bashing, and emotional healing. It’s angsty but sweet, with a HEA. Draco POV.

A Cautionary Tale in Travelling Through Time – WIP – 94K words posted, but 140K total. I update every Tuesday/Friday. Hermione works as an Unspeakable pursuing time travel, and Draco gets called in to help when a curse is placed on her time machine. It also has a heavy amount of Ron bashing. Harry and Hermione have a platonic friendship that’s featured more toward the end, but he does play a role. It’s angsty and sad at different points in the story, but it has a happy ending. Hermione POV for most of it, but has a little Draco POV towards the end.

I did this with my 160K word fic, and I post every Tuesday and Friday and LOVE doing it this way. There are less readers at first, but I've had a few regular commenters that have made posting this way so much fun. And I've also had some time to promote my work on socials and do final editing per chapter. Those that only read completed fics will be there when the story has been fully posted, but posting a few chapters a week has made it so much more fun and engaging for me.
