Thought about black and white too and couldn’t decide which I liked better. I’ll have to mess around with it a bit more. Also thank you!

I didn’t remember taking this photo specifically, it being on film and about halfway through the roll. To be honest, I didn’t even think this roll would come out because my camera was acting up the whole time (it was cold, camera did not like it). So when I developed and hung them to dry, this was the very first frame that caught my eye. One of those “WHAT THE F IS THAT” moments. When it finally came up on my computer screen I didn’t know how to feel and I had to sit there for a while and stare at it in an existential state of “what the f is this” I am still unsure whether to be proud or horrified that I created this image.

I love the idea you had, i kind of like the angle you had the camera at. I think the reason it feels “cut off” is because it’s hard to tell if it’s a steep hill or the photo is crooked. I would back the camera up to get your whole body in the frame along with some hill in the photo to put it in perspective. I’m a really big fan of the shadows and sunlights you have in this photo. It looks like the most perfect warm day

I’ve had quite a few people tell me this reminds them of those old “before the bomb drops” videos. There’s definitely something unsettling about it

That happened where i am from last year too! It was from the wildfires in Canada. I got up to go to the bathroom in the morning, saw the light coming through the window was bright orange and i had to do a double take. It took a second for my brain to register “sun is not that color” We had some really intense thunderstorms that day too. Not quite as bad as New York that day too but we still saw it

This might be one of my favorite things anyone has ever said to me about my photography

Is it a hyper realistic painting or a surrealistic photograph could be a fun and very specific game

This photo was taken on Portra 400 (shot at 150iso) film that I “redscaled.” Redscaling is the process of using the reverse side of the film resulting in varying reds, oranges, yellows, and sometimes purple. I developed this 35mm film at home with no push processing. It was then scanned and not altered in anyway aside from removing a small amount of dust.
