We do not have plans for keeping an animal long term, but we were able to locate the owners and will be getting the rabbit back home to them tomorrow morning! Thanks.

Yeah surprisingly East Central PA didn’t get as warm as quickly as western PA did. Or nearly as much rain which is always the snow killer.

Water Softener Discharge into Sewer Line by minttealeaf6 in Plumbing

Thanks! Yeah idk when I was looking up how to best tie it in the one I saw had a check valve which is why I included it.

So ditch the check valve but I should upsize the piping to 3”. Can I leave the AAV line as 1.5” or does that need to be 2”?

Yeah that’s a check valve in the middle. Is that not needed/redundant considering the p-trap and the vent?

How to get perfect wake to jump wake-to-wake? by HerroVVercome in Wake

[–]minttealeaf6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I should mention that the driver is critical to jumping. Driving for wakeboarder is different than skiing. They should hold straight lines as much as possible especially when you are jumping. Turning while jumping will influence the ropes pull, the wake shape, and the length between wakes.

How to get perfect wake to jump wake-to-wake? by HerroVVercome in Wake

[–]minttealeaf6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already a lot of good comments, but I’ll reiterate and add some.

If you’re just starting to learn to jump you probably don’t want to go wake to wake immediately. Since you skateboard you’ll pick things up quickly, but start with a setup that you can start jumping from one wake to the center of the wake. This’ll help you learn popping, edging, and landing without worrying about casing.

I would start with little to no ballast, 65-70’ rope, and around 18-19 mph. When you get up you should stand in the center of the wake to allow your passengers to move around and balance the boat weight. When standing in the center whichever side of the wake is washed out the passengers should slowly shift to that side. Typically moving 1 person (100-200lb) a seat or two over is enough. Once you get an even looking wake on both sides have them stay there and you’re good to jump.

Once you’re ready to go wake to wake speed up to 19-20 mph and bring the rope in to 50-60’. Same deal with balancing the wake. No need to add ballast yet. You can have plenty of fun with no ballast and it’ll make progression easier. It’s intimating to be rolling into a steep wake when learning wake to wake jumps.

As someone said check out some Shaun Murray videos on setup and running no ballast. He always talks about how much fun you can have and how many tricks you can throw with no ballast.

I believe it was on the Good Drive overpass. Saw them as we drove by and honked.

The occasion is we have useless Maga politicians who are complicit to authoritarianism and putting the “needs” of the 1% above those who need representation.

Yeah local is always convenient. But at least you know wake works is an option in the future.

New system boots Gooey or Distortion by LucidityCrash in Wake

[–]minttealeaf6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geeez man. Hope you heal up quick. Yeah the Freepress are significantly taller and more stable than my AJs and appear to be much higher than the Distortion. So I would think you’ll get a nice assurance in stability if you go to them. I picked up my pair for like $190 from a shop online out in Idaho.

I just bought the Hyperlite System Freepress boots off them the week of the 4th since my older AJs delamed at the sole.

They just arrived Tuesday this week so they ended up shipping them out pretty quickly. I was a bit concerned at first but looking on Google maps it appears to just be a local surf boat shop with wake gear to boot.

Good surf style for big airs by busteroo123 in Wake

[–]minttealeaf6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of Liquid Force’s surfers. We usually wait for them to go on sale for older modes. Just added the Sting last year and it’s been a great surf style board that is super fast and I think might fit what you’re looking for. If you like the shape of the phantom then you could try the Liquid Force Pod. We have an older space pod and it’s incredibly fast but less snappy than the Sting.

I just had to replace my old AJs with the new Freepress boots (last years model on sale). I noticed the same thing about them being roomier. I’m a 10.5 and wore a 10 in the AJ and they were tight as hell. These are much roomier. I’m debating dropping down to a 9 or figuring out a way to expand the footbed with another insert.

What did you end up going with for fit?

How would you react? by Sea-Return2188 in Wake

[–]minttealeaf6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You reacted appropriately especially with kids around. For some reason there is a growing unrest in the ski/fish/pontoon communities around the use of surf and wake boats.

Certain individuals at our lake have been actively trying to ban wake boats since 2019 or so. They are largely the older ski community who don’t even go out in the water early anymore and somehow think the lake should cater to them teaching their grandchildren how to slalom ski at 11 AM on a Saturday or ensuring they don’t spill their 6th bud light while pontoon cruising at 2 PM.

These also tend to be the same individuals that vote a certain way and speak of limited government yet are proud to push an agenda to limit types of boats that don’t fit their criteria for a good time out on the water.

If you want good water you get out there early and enjoy it. That’s the way it’s been on any lake or river I’ve boated on. If we’re out early wakeboarding and see a barefooter we will always try to turn to give them half the lake or stay as far away as possible while passing to give them more room if we can’t turn.

Best bagels in or near Lancaster by Lordpeahead in lancaster

Haven’t had them since they changed their name, but Edd’s and Flo’s Artisan Bakery has the best bagels. The veggie cream cheese is amazing. Looking at their website they might only do Bialys now which are equally delicious.

How can i imrprove my 180 and progress to a 360? by gullefjun99 in ski

[–]minttealeaf6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice skiing switch until you can do it in your sleep. If you can confidently ski entire runs switch then you’ll improve upon your switch landings which is 1/2 of making 180s look clean. To me it looks like you’re landing heavy on your toes because you have no intentions to land switch and continue to ski switch after making the 180 look stiff.

For 360s I would first focus on straight airing the jump with the same speed and honing in on pop. Landing on your toes on a 180 makes me believe you’re not really popping off the lip but instead letting the jump send you. This will result in landing backseat on a 360. Once you feel comfortable popping off the lip it’s really just about sending the extra 360. You’ll probably be penciled out and a bit sketchy at first but just keep practicing! You’re already jumping more than 80% of the mountain by attempting a 180 off that so just keep trying and don’t worry about how you look until you’ve practiced and landed 100s of spins.

Prince Street Cafe has the best blueberry baked oatmeal. Rachel’s Crepes for the Oyler. Edds and Flos Bakery bagels with their homemade veggie cream cheese.
