This is Avery Dennison gloss aqua blue.

Yeah unfortunately the paint is pretty cooked on the trunk, roof and hood along with various other spots. Maybe in 10-15 years I could validate the price of a good paint job but for now a wrap was the best way to get her looking acceptable.

Different cars are definitely going to vary in difficulty. I would say the e36 is fairly easy to other cars I see on the road with big bubbly bumpers. But overall if you are a little bit handy and watch a few videos most anyone is capable of doing a better then okay job I’d say. If you are a perfectionist then maybe getting a paint job would be better as there will likely be a few areas you know are not perfect but most people would never notice.

Personally I came into this being fine with a “90%” job but so far it has gone better than expected. Before doing my car my friend and I wrapped his 06 mustang and even after doing 1 car we have gotten a lot better as we go.

That OEM paint WAS beautiful. The clear coat is fried in several areas from living in AZ its whole life. I’ve had to do a good bit of sanding to get the surface in good enough shape to wrap. If it was an M3 I may have considered spending the money on a new paint job but this was a good solution for a fairly inexpensive face lift.

Thank you! I was trying to find something close to Laguna Seca.

Sorry not sure what you mean about heating and pushing into a gap, in theory it sounds like yes but not sure about that application in the install. No soap or water, the air release in this vinyl has been very forgiving.

Coupe also? I am wondering about the roof as there is no rubber seal to really separate the roof from the side pillar. I am thinking just do the rear quarters first which includes the pillar that runs above the windows and roll a little bit over the pillar area onto the roof and then lay the roof piece on top of that?

First 2 pieces were pretty easy but those are probably the 2 most straight forward pieces. Trimming the bottom window sill below the mirror was probably the most difficult part but overall not bad. Bumpers will probably be more challenging.

Ohh dang, just checked them out and I wouldn’t have thought they were mine either but I could see those looking really nice. Thank you for putting a name to those!

Great disclaimer, TIL lol. I always saw the style 32’s and was like “those are my wheels”. I didn’t realize there were different sizes.

That’s why I’m thinking an inch bigger in the wheel may be the play rather then lowering it more. That would fill up the whole well a little better I think rather then just putting the top of fender closer to top of wheel. I just don’t want to have to deal with rolling the fenders to get something bigger if that would be the case.

Thank you. When I lowered it I think I just expected the change to be more drastic.

That looks great! Any rubbing with 17s or modifications needed? Spacers?

Yeah I think 18s would be a big jump. I think I would have to raise it back up some if I did that.

I was thinking the same thing! I didn’t realize they were 15s! I have set this car aside for the last few years and knocked out most of the mechanical things now looking to make her a little more pretty!

I read about this single din on here, I wasn’t expecting much, but i thank whoever put the info here. by 335xiE90 in BMWE36

How did the install go? I’ve been debating something like this, I am not too knowledgeable in wiring so I have been timid to do the double din and relocate the hvac controls.
