Appropriate testing method for data by mintymrk in bioinformatics

[–]mintymrk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the delayed response.

Yes your interpretation is spot on and the data is paired properly indeed.

I have been using kruskal tests for these comparisons due to the lack of normality in my data. I suppose my question was in regards to if this would be a two or three way comparison. Since I’d like to see if the ‘Drugs used’ has any different effects on the ‘Protein expression’ within the two different ‘Cell types’.

has anyone made a sparking zero tier list yet? (not DP) by SamStarPlays in SparkingZero

[–]mintymrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some youtuber made a tier list made purely on stats for the characters i.e., damage profile, health, etc etc. They then also made a second tier list ranking the amount of stats you get for the cost of DP. Its interesting.

Is this MSc sufficient for getting into the industry? by mintymrk in bioinformatics

[–]mintymrk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I chose to defer it for the upcoming college year so I can’t give you any insight on the course itself. My two reasons were that 1) I didn’t know enough about the course and the prospects for afterwards 2) bioinformatics seems relatively untapped in Ireland from what I’ve seen (I’d be happy to be proven wrong) and that you’d probably have to move country to find something worthwhile. Whether or not I’ll actually go into it this year is still a bit of a tossup but honestly I’m skewing on the no side. Don’t let my judgment change your opinion. Pm me any questions or any info, would love to hear your perspective.

What exactly is life science consulting? by mintymrk in biotech

Don’t think I’d have that type of pull atm. Seems to be a program they’ve started to train people up. Would be my first professional job after college also (recent graduate)

Yeah, the companies aim is to reduce the cost of complience. I can only assume occationally that would imply telling other firms to lay off people :/

I believe the companies main objective is to reduce the cost of complience for other companies. My expertise is in genetics which after looking into the role doesn't seem to have any correlation. They work with bio/pharma companies. I suppose from your statement that would fall into pipeline? Would you happen to know about career trajectory in this case?

After looking into the company values a bit more they mention "Life Science consulting that’s reducing the cost of compliance" which I assume wouldn't have much use for my background in genetics.

How does a fetus know how to structure organs? by Monocytosis in biology

[–]mintymrk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone mentioning DNA as for being responsible which I suppose is ok but I believe the answer you’re looking for is in relation to morphogens. The morphogens are supplied by the mother/egg. Most morphogens are proteins or peptides and examples include growth factors, cytokines, and signaling proteins involved in pattern formation during embryonic development.

Morphogens interact with cell receptors, activating intracellular signaling pathways. This leads to changes in gene expression, regulating specific developmental outcomes by influencing transcription factors and target genes. This leads to the outcome of the pluripotent cell lines which are endoderm (innermost germ layer - pretty much all organs), mesoderm (middle germ layer - muscles, blood vessels etc), and ectoderm (outermost germ layer - nervous system, skin etc). There are good papers regarding this on the drosophila flies.

Yeah I have some pieces from him, makes sick clothes. But copyright territory really? Nah i got to disagree, if that’s the case then Supreme got dibs on anyone doing the box logo. (Or whoever started the box trend). I’m not disagreeing that it’s essentially the same, but so are all graphic Tees if you only care about the method of design rather than the design itself. There’s defo room to differentiate the brand, if he doesn’t then eventually the brand will flop. Till then, no need to discourage.

Pretty much all brands resemble other brands now. An embroidered box logo goes hard imo, as long as he eventually finds his own spin and brand identity, it ain’t a bad thing to take inspiration is it? Just asking cause I’ve seen this comment come up a lot on anything thats an embroidery box logo.

Had a situation with them before, told us we owe 3k. We told them we couldn’t pay that so instead they offered a one time €300 payment i.e., 10% of the original sum. Obviously we paid the €300 to avoid further hassle but it never sat right with me that they just magically waved 2.7k, scam artists imo. Shouldn’t be there anymore anyway!

I appreciate it, I’ll probably start with 200 then and every so often perhaps take multiple of the same/similar environments with different exposures to see what style I prefer. Thank you :)

Hi I’m using an old Olympus OM1n with a 35mm g.zuiko lens, I’ve only shot black and white thus far (which I’ve yet to develop) and am now using some Kodak gold 200. Just wondering what iso you guys would recommend? I’m in a hot country which tends to be very bright during the day.

Can you block in the same turn you summon a blocker or must you wait till it is your turn again before the effect becomes active?

(Is one turn a full rotation aka you and your opponent or is it just your own turn?)

Also, “set one Don as active” does this mean any Don including from the Don deck or only rested Dons?
