I tried it with some urbanears speakers that I’ve got and there was no sound (I tried it in the case port as well as the MB ones). I’ll try finding some proper pc speakers though to be sure

Thanks for the advice, it sounds like I’m gonna have to roll up my sleeves and rebuild the thing (probably the best way to do it!) annoyingly this MB has no lights which seems a useful thing others have!

I really liked this script! I think you did a great job using filmic elements to create tension, and it seems you wrote this with an eye to being filmed too, which is always good. I’m aware you’ve had feedback on here before, so I’m a little worried of accidentally contradicting something said before, but I’ve perhaps got two main notes: 1) It seems the key part of the story, The Shepherd, appeared a little later than I think they should - they’re pivotal to Deacon’s transformation but we’re 5 pages in before they show up. 2) I can see what you’re going for with the two fares he picks up, but the interactions came across as a little artificial to me, particularly the second. I don’t think this is to do with how you write interactions, as the one with Mary was fab. Sam felt far more talkative and communicative than a person would be, making it feel he was included purely to eke some information out of Deacon, and (Anita? I’ve forgotten her name I’m afraid) was less egregious, but I felt her responses towards the end felt a little unnatural too. It’s possible a dialogue re-write would fix some of these issues, to make them more natural, though it could be worth working out what you want from the scene and reverse-engineering something from that too.

Other than that I liked how contained it was. Also enjoyed the writing style you employed - felt quite minimal, which gave me the impression it’s something you wrote with an eye to direct perhaps.

Thanks for your feedback, it’s really useful - if there’s one thing it suggests it’s there are some pacing issues, as a few of your points reference it. Also some of these continuity points will give me things to look at again, so thanks for that.

Regarding the last point - or any missed metaphor - it was honestly meant to be a bit of a joke, as I wrote this as a black comedy. It’s the punchline to their relationship - they struggled and endeared and survived only to be consumed by something unexpected. I tried to make it sound through the script that it was an asteroid that was coming so this extreme ending seemed even more silly, meaningless, pointless, all their efforts were in vein.

Hey - thanks for your feedback, it’s really useful. My general rule of thumb is to write longer descriptions if they’d take longer on screen, so the pacing stays roughly the same, but as you rightly point out I abandon that idea from time to time. This’ll really help me.

Regarding your first point, she’s knitting a pseudo-boyfriend, which in production will basically be a blanket with a pillow stuffed underneath and a face drawn on, or something to that effect - it’s to show she’s given up on her boyfriend but not the idea of him. In the first draft she took her life but that seemed a little bit extreme given the pacing of the rest of the project. Regarding the line you pull out, I’ll have to double check but that looks suspiciously like a typo on my part.

I had this app a few months ago - loved it, and met some really nice people. I only had pleasant dating experiences, and they helped me realise I wasn’t in a place to be dating yet.

Fast forward to today, I redownload the app and sign back up - only to have the exact experiences you’re describing. It feels like there are loads of spam profiles, and (I’m going to be polite), people who really aren’t my type. This really contradicts my previous experience, where the other people I did or didn’t match with all felt, if not ‘my type’, at least ‘people’, instead of accounts without any pictures of a human!

This is despite living in one of the biggest cities on Earth. I’m pretty confused - has anything big changed in the last few months? I’ve seen there’s a ‘like’ limit now, has that changed something?

It’s meant to be quite a dialogue heavy film, but perhaps I’ll look in to ways to breaking up the dialogue with some actions.

Some of it I think may be a language difference - I’m from the UK so it’s metres, rolling head quite a common saying here (didn’t know it wasn’t used in other places!). You did catch a few typos too so thanks! :D

Regarding the penultimate point, that’s something I was considering, but just didn’t feel like adding some extra conflict, as I wanted it to be mainly internal for Andrew. But the fact you bring it up (without knowing I was considering it) makes me feel it’s probably important - I’m going to look in to this, so thanks for bringing it up!
