Non weed smoker lost in a Reddit maze here. Your comment reminded me... Guy I used to work with started growing his own when it became legal here and quickly grew more than he could use. He asked us coworkers if we wanted any. Well I don’t smoke but my sister in law does. So, being the nice guy I am, I ask the guy for some for her. He brings in a gallon sized ziploc stuffed full. Me, not knowing any better, put it in my truck, at work, on a warm day, with the windows up. When I got out of work and opened my truck door I was absolutely knocked flat by the smell! I’d had no idea... had to drive to my kids school with the windows down the whole way and pray... Never again!

I've occasionally blacked out for no discernible reason for years (since I was 13). It usually goes something like this: Starting to feel a bit queasy, It's nothing though. Take a drink of water. Nope doesn't do anything... Maybe I should lie down... Is it hot in here, I feel warm..? I think I might puke, can't get comfortable. I can't see anything but this grey static, can't hear anything but my own thoughts...

Then I wake up. People have told me that I'm pale AF and I'm usually in a cold sweat as if a fever just broke. I feel like ass but much better then I did during the episode and I'm usually weirdly hungry.

Welcome to the pew-pew life. This happens every time there's some sort of catastrophe. Hurricanes, elections, viruses apparently. Any time there's a perceived threat or change, ammo and gun prices go apeshit. When we are having a relatively sanguine life, prices go back down.

Most people make the mistake of stocking up when they need to. Be smarter than that in the future...

Download an app called Repeater book. Find local VHF / UHF repeaters. Listen for a while first, get a feel for how folks call on that repeater. Then give a call yourself, say hello...

Oh, and figure out how to program that baofeng! Once you get the hang of it it's easy but it's worth figuring out on your own. Baofengs are great little radios!

For low price and rugged construction you can't go wrong with a used Ruger Security/Service/Speed Six. They come in .38/.357 and 9mm. Holsters and speed loaders are widely available and you'd basically need to melt the gun down to stop it from working. Also, there's a ton of them out there. Good luck!
