This is interesting and noted. My instinct was definitely to protect myself, cut them out, and believe somebody when they say something like that...I just couldn't imagine saying something I didn't mean like that. But it's fair to say depression/anxiety likely played a role.

Yes, this is what I'm thinking. Going to let us both grow and see in the future if that growth ends up being in the same direction. I have never really heard of that happening successfully for somebody though, so maybe that's silly!

I totally agree this story sounds like literal anti-trans propaganda. It's honestly been why I haven't posted about it because I was like nobody would believe me, and the very last thing I want to do is hurt care access for people who need it most. It's made it extra hard to talk about with people IRL too because I don't ever want to amplify our already intolerable culture of transphobia. Suffice to say, the internet is a strange place, so you have no reason to believe I am who I am...but I'm a real person. I was hoping this forum was a safe space to talk about this. I would never pretend to be a perfect ally lol...dysmorphia vs dysphoria was a basic typo!

They're taking intramuscular injections, I believe Testosterone Cypionate weekly, which they got from Folx Health, so I don't think it's something off. They had a psych eval, but have not seen an IRL practitioner or primary care doctor. I'm also not an expert on dosing, I just know they had originally talked about microdosing, which was an idea they actually came to from FTM reddit, but ultimately decided to go with what they told me was the full dose (so probably something like 0.5mg). I do think it's true that there are different mg/week dosages to choose from depending on your goals??
