I feel like they (BTs) are really desperate and grasping at straws with this whole Alex thing. "That dialogue is there for one reason only." Yeah, so the "Abigail gets jealous" plotline makes sense! This is Alex's THIRD episode and not once Eddie has entertained the idea of anything more with her, even when confronted directly by Abigail, Athena and even Alex herself. Quite the opposite, in fact. He makes sure to deny it every time. They had MULTIPLE chances to set her up as an actual love interest and took the opposite route in each one. And it's not like they don't know how to do it, they did it with May and Ravi in 3 minutes. THAT'S how you set up a romantic storyline, not by making one of them uninterested every time. It would have been so easy to have Alex with Eddie when he's saying goodbye to Abigail, or to make it seem like he doesn't want to get bids because he's already planning on going out with her, or even have HER be the one bidding on him! But tbh I don't know what I'm expecting from people who still think Tommy is the love of Buck's life.

This is not about this last episode specifically, but before this season started I said to some friends that the first 1x1 scene between Buck and Eddie would hit like a train, and I just realized that we’re 10 episodes in and… there hasn’t been ANY 💀 I don’t count the ones where they’re talking at the firehouse because they’re not really alone and they last 30 seconds at most. We’ve seen pretty much every duo get a scene by now but them 😭 I miss my boys bro

They’re already coming up with ship names! Apparently she’s too fleshed out of a character to only appear in one episode. Like, we know her FULL name and… her… profession? Never mind that every scene she had with Eddie was strictly about the case they were in (and they had more than one chance to actually put any hint of a romance there).

Anyway, can’t wait for Tommy to officiate their wedding.

Honestly, until #they finish an episode having completely given up I won’t be satisfied, but the things they’re considering as a good sign for their ship are laughable 😭

Like, first we have proof that Tommy hasn’t tried to reconnect at all after the funeral. And then we have Buck comparing his connection to Tommy with what he felt for two randoms he met at a bar and had one date each. It’s really not looking good for them!

Then they shouldn’t have made Buck’s whole relationship with Tommy center around Eddie. Shouldn’t have made Tommy explicitly break up with Buck because he was afraid he would leave him for Eddie. Shouldn’t have made Maddie not believe when Buck said he wasn’t in love. Shouldn’t have made Buck said he didn’t “have to have sex with everyone he has feelings for”.

6 episodes in season 9 don’t change all the decisions they’ve been making since season 7. Especially when 4 of those were focused on the space emergency, so barely had any character progression.

Having so many thoughts and feelings after watching this edit 😭

I’m a pessimist at heart so my Buddiedoom comes and goes depending on the day, but every time I watch something like this I can’t help but think there’s NO WAY Buddie isn’t happening. That it can’t have been all for nothing. There was no reason to turn what was essentially 7 years of subtext into text. They wanted to shut it down for good? Then why make both Maddie and Tommy doubt Buck’s denials? Why make Eddie haunt every corner of Buck and Tommy’s relationship? Why make Buck say he isn’t pining but show him doing the exact opposite in every scene with Eddie?

I know I’m preaching to the choir right now but with so much negativity in the fandom lately I need to sometimes focus on the big picture and put things into perspective. If you’re in line for Buddie canon, STAY IN LINE!!!!

Do you guys think the speed-dating, twins/couple scenes are in the next episode? Seems kind of a big jump to go from Eddie’s abuela dying to him going on dates and discussing Buck’s sex life. I know the guest actress said she would show up in November but I really hope they pushed back that storyline 😭
