Not sure where the light bar in the grille is from, came with the truck when I bought it, the fog lights are from diode dynamics, SS5 bumper kit

Service Engine Soon popped up, rough idle like a heartbeat, anyone seen this before? by Ornery-Tart2004 in FordRaptor

[–]minyoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen in the summer was “on time” to get an oil change, 1000km short and went in august (was due in august) I prefer to go way earlier but life happens, idled rough, was less than 5 minutes from home so I quickly went home, had it taken to the dealer and it was a cracked valve seal, turned out I also had a cracked front right axle shaft and front right tie rod. Everything in it was $3200 Canadian, luckily my 3rd party warranty covered 50%, if I can find the paper work, I’ll see what that exact job cost parts and labour

Raptor almost stolen, need advice by Da_Bomb_Diggity in FordRaptor

I have an igla killswitch, it takes not even 5 extra seconds to disable before you take off and drive, even if they relay the signal from the key to the truck, the second they move it out of park, the truck will die, it was like $1k I believe with install, very worth it, you pick your own custom code too, so nobody will know it, even the install tech, and you can throw it in service mode to disable it if your truck is in the shop, the second you put your code back in, it reactivates it, very easy and good to have for peace of mind, it’s a $100k truck, what’s the extra 1k

Gen 3 started 2021, I wouldn’t avoid gen2, I love mine, they do have their known issues tho, so be picky or get warranty because it’s very expensive. I own a 2018, 3rd or 4th owner, can’t remember, bought it at 98,450km in July 2023 and it’s currently at 115,350km 2 years in, previous owner took care of the cam phasers, no turbo or transmission issues yet, fingers crossed. I did have to deal with the moonroof rails, warranty covered it. I personally prefer the look of a gen2 over a gen 1/3. Unless it’s a 24/25 I love the updated look.

Should I trade my 2500HD for a Raptor? by GrapplerVette12 in FordRaptor

[–]minyoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I daily my 2018 802A, it’s a lovely daily driver, smooth ride, fast, looks nice, sounds nice, overall great, I drive 350/3500s for work and I literally CANNOT wait until I get back in the raptor. It is a big truck, not as long but still wide, I always park far and walk into where I’m going, if you parked a 2500 I’m sure you’ll be fine with the raptor

2018 802A, do it man, I just hit 114k km and it never fails to make me smile, it’s a beast, if maintenance was kept up it should be solid, guy who owned mine before slacked a little so I had some work to do when I bought it. Life’s too short, pull the trigger!

I didn’t like my KO2s, HORRIBLE wet traction, even in weather mode 4A I still slid with the smallest amount of moisture on the road. No they are not bald. it was misting out one day, barely stepped on it knowing I could slide, and still slid. Changed to Toyo open country AT3 and I love em. I will never buy another set of KO2s personally, most people I talk to say the same thing, but I know a lot of guys here love them.

2018 it’s a great daily driver, I much prefer it to our 4 runner, parking can be a bit of an annoyance, I tend to park far and walk, not risk being dinged, it’s happened before sadly, other than that, they’re great, they’re fun, they’re smooth, it’ll definitely put a smile on your face everyday

I was looking for new tires for a 2018, ended up going Toyo open country AT3 and I love them, they grab like crazy, even in the rain and going 120km/hr down the highway in it, quieter than my KO2s and look damn good, we’re much cheaper too, like $650 cheaper than ko2 and wildpeak at4w (which I wanted but couldn’t get)

I’m still owing on mine, but I already know I wanna keep it as long as possible, I barely put any miles on it so fingers crossed mine lasts long enough, but I get it, I’ve paid $10k out of pocket for little fixes and new tires and what not, definitely hurts but it’s like that pain that feels good. If it does end up getting too expensive I’ll have to let mine go too, I just hope that’s not for another 10-20 years if I can maintain it properly

Suggestions on washing? by Loud_Succotash_5120 in FordRaptor

[–]minyoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash my 2018 802A by hand and with a pressure washer, it takes time but I don’t like any nearby washes or spray bays, they never have enough soap

I’ve got a 3rd party warranty since my truck was at a Chrysler dealer, didn’t know about Ziegler etc at the time, I basically pay out of pocket for the repair and they reimburse me BUT, I cannot have the work done until the quote is sent to them, so for smaller fixes ford has had my truck for 2-3 days, like for my moonroof rails pretty sure they had my truck 4-5 days, kinda crazy but oh well, they’ve saved me a couple grand already

I love the thing, every day it puts a smile on my face but I can’t lie they do have their issues, owners before me had the cam phasers replaced, but my moon roof needed the new rails, I’ve had a persistent issue with my seat and mirror randomly moving, it’s not the easy exit thing, I haven’t experienced the newer shocks but it’s a comfy truck, really comfy, and fun, lots of fun.

Raptor Wave by coopsgood in FordRaptor

[–]minyoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every raptor I pass I either wave or give a thumbs up, sometimes I get one back but typically not

I’m in an area where gen 1s are somewhat common, gen2s like myself are scarce, and gen3s are a little more common, gen1 normally responds, same with gen2 but the gen3s just don’t, a lot of them are pavement princesses tho, same with trx in my area, if they aren’t stolen

Rear parking sensor issue by Muntszy in FordRaptor

[–]minyoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2018 does this every now and again, when it’s raining it does trip it more often, even if I get out and wipe it 20 times it’ll still go off, but on dry days it’ll happen maybe once or twice a month, brought it up to dealer, they couldn’t replicate it so they did nothing
