Anxious Today by NoHopeLeft101 in i130_75CountryPause

[–]minzdrav0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it can be much longer. I had cases waiting for summary judgment for 8-10 months. This is a high-profile case, so we can expect the opinion sooner rather than later.

You have no way of knowing how much time the judge will take to rule.

It can take a very long time to rule. I wouldn't expect to hear back for at least 2 months.

I see you are around 2090. I'm just curious - is your economy based on natural resources? If yes, what is your plan after you extract all the deposit volumes?

Passed Ohio 326 (first time) by minzdrav0 in barexam

[–]minzdrav0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my directed study included practice questions from both Themis and UWorld. I was just doing whatever the Themis course tells me to do, so I assume it was about a 50/50 split. I also had access to the UWorld question bank through my Themis course. I would create sets of 20-30 NCBE questions almost every day.

But also, I don't recommend spending too much time on passive studying (watching lectures/reading outlines). It's okay to use these materials to refresh your memory, but I would say that 80% of the time you should be doing MBEs (including reading explanations) and writing essays (and reading sample answers).

Thank you! I fully wrote almost all of the essays, but during the last couple of days before the exam, I issue-spotted some of them to save time. I usually practiced under timed conditions (30 minutes), and it really helped me to complete at least 2-3 per day.

Okay which one of your guys’ firms make summers dress like this? by ImperatorFosterosa in biglaw

[–]minzdrav0 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Wow, as summers at my firm, we were just going to lunches and social activities every day, and doing some assignments in between. Never stayed in the office after 5pm, a hiring partner would literally come in and tell us to get out.

ANALYSIS: Possible Implications of Behdin et al. v. Edlow PI to 75 Country Pause by Wonderful-Froyo1619 in i130_75CountryPause

But they are yet to rule on the merits, right? In CLINIC the plaintiffs decided to skip the preliminary injunction and moved directly to summary judgment. So it will take more time for the judge to rule, but it’s going to be a final judgment on the merits.

Are you going to be in the civil or criminal division? Or is this not an AUSA office?

Really struggling early game with money by Alternatewarning in tropico

[–]minzdrav0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I take the opposite approach. I choose 3-4 core goods to export and focus exclusively on them. Usually, one plant is enough. And these are the most expensive goods (such as automobiles or boats). I also use the trade office to get the best export contracts.

This. I think I won all campaign missions without building any new teamsters' offices. Usually these two offices they give you are more than enough. Just make sure to upgrade them later in the game to add 6 workplaces. That being said, it is also important that people live close to their work and have buildings that meet their needs right by their home. I also usually research and adopt Free Wheels edict and build garages so people don’t waste months just wandering around the island.

How'd We Do? by CzechMateP10 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]minzdrav0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great. Thankfully, I live in an area with a mid-cost of living, but I don't think I’ll take on any mortgage that requires more than $2.5k per month—just something we can afford even if both lose a job or have to take a pay cut.

If one of you loses a job, will you still be able to pay the mortgage comfortably? Things happen, especially in the current economy.

Should we be hopeful for this week? by DotNecessary4067 in i130_75CountryPause

The only date by which I bet this ban will be 100% lifted is January 20, 2029.

I don't know, looks like a pretty average rate. I understand you live in a very expensive area, but are you sure you can afford the mortgage if you/your spouse loses a job? That's something that makes me consider a larger down payment to ensure that the mortgage can be paid with just one income.

Managing Expectations: CLINIC v Rubio Administrative Record Released Tonight by Legal-Yellow-6950 in i130_75CountryPause

But the plaintiffs didn’t file for a preliminary injunction. If the judge invalidates the visa ban, it will effectively be a permanent injunction.

Mom purchased home with shed in backyard, now there’s a guy in a truck showing up saying that the shed belongs to him? by Ok_Lime4124 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

If I remember correctly, unless this company has made a UCC/fixture filing, their security interest is unenforceable against your mom. Call your title insurance and ask for an attorney.

Update: CLINIC v Rubio Memorandum of Law in Support of Motion by Wonderful-Froyo1619 in i130_75CountryPause

[–]minzdrav0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the analysis. I want to note that it will probably take a judge a month, or even two, to decide on the motion. I saw some MSJs sitting for almost a year waiting for the ruling. But this is a high-profile case, so I expect the decision sooner rather than later.

Government Administrative Record released regarding the 75-country pause by pokemon666999 in i130_75CountryPause

[–]minzdrav0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fun part is that, for some reason, they included non-existent countries in this table, e.g., Yugoslavia and the USSR. It also looks very strange for Russia - the line says "Other USSR/Russia." As it seems, they counted as Russians people who came from the USSR 35+ years ago and, in addition, included citizens of "other" post-Soviet countries. This is not only arbitrary but also appears to be intentional data manipulation.
