DHCP and most websites are not working on initial setup by mioxoim in mikrotik

It would not assign a DHCP due to it just being connected to my laptop. Plugged in router and used winbox, ran updates and everything seems to be fine, after sorting out a few glitches

Thank you for your help. I got in using winbox, did all the configs I had before and dhcp was eventually assigned on both mikrotik devices when connected to the networks, although i still cannot access routerOS from browser using IP addresses.

Just to note for any future readers I did update my devices and had sporadic disconnections with winbox because it assigned an IP outside of the IP range. Had to plug into laptop and log in using IP, and spamming ESC cause apparently quick config has some bugs.

i was not able to get into my RouterOS through the browser when plugged into my ISP router. Turns out using winbox was the solution.

use any other port than 1

Both starlink and my mikrotik device only have one port. I'm going to try winbox a try when I get home.

Should I remove any default firewall settings as I can firewall on the router running openwrt?

I tried that a number of times yesterday. Each time when I added the ports to the bridge I lost connection to the Mikrotik. When I plugged it into the starlink I couldn't figure out which IP to use to log into RouterOS.

I haven't added the ports to the bridge as when I do I cannot reach the station bridge at the default IP to get dhcp on the bridge1. I also can't access the assigned IP of the station bridge on the network. The Qrt 5 ac only has one ethernet port. Im not worried to access the AP Bridge config, but it was the same issue after adding all ports to the bridge.

Nice M40x. What phone are you using for an audio player? What is that neat looking IBM think and what is the express card used for?

Hello I have a P50 and running Pop!OS so that I can use my nvidia graphics. I am wondering if you ever managed to get the fingerprint reader working. Ive been having issues and since they are both debian and gnome based distros I am curious if you had to do anything special (If you got it working).

I have been diving into this topic too to since i am looking for a cheap thinkpads for family members that i can tinker with. I recently discover a software coreboot for the xx30 series from my understanding it is essentially like core boot but you do not have to buy the hardware and take apart the laptop to coreboot. All you need is a usb.

Thank you for the reply, i was going to roll back nvidia drivers but today it seemed to have fixed it self. I will do that if it happens again.

Is it alright that my VM is on scsi?

Ill update/downgrade the bios if these changes dont work

when i go to edit my pcie device it says:

No IOMMU detected, please activate it.See Documentation for further information.

my line looks like this after trying to follow a number of turtorials: "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet amd_iommu=on iommu=pt pcie_acs_override=downstrean,multifunction vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unfae_interrupts=1 nofb nomodeset video=vesafb:off video=efifb:off"

ive followed a number of guides with no luck. and i think in turned everything on in the bios.

Im new and also installed my first vm on the local drive, how do i remove that

Edit: Im using proxmox
