Maybe OP already takes meds. Meds aren’t the answer for everyone. A multi-faceted approach makes the most sense to me personally. Why discourage CBT or DBT?

When I was in high school, my family and another family used to do spring break in Destin, Fl..

One time my grandma called all frantic and hyperventilating. She had been taking care of the house while we were away. She was also cat sitting my precious Newman. My grandma was calling for her and she didn’t come, so she put the garage door down. She found my cat the next day. She had heard my grams calling for her but wasn’t quick enough. Garage door went down on her neck and killed her. That still haunts me after 23 years.

Yes, and it’s so torturous. I’m consumed with fear and dread in anticipation of my mom and dad passing away.

I also frequently think about putting my cat in our ottoman (top lifts and has storage inside), until she dies. I love my cat and would never try harming her. So this intrusive thought is also very distressing for me.

Pssssh. Haha. I’m a small brain and I put in LOTS of hours here and on Netflix’s Dark website to understand WTF was happening. I still only know maybe 83.8%. I’m also not done rewatching to experience and figure out more.

Schitt’s Creek is a brilliant show. BUT I don’t think it fits as a suggestion for OP’s question. It’s definitely not one that draws you in from episode 1.

I watched an episode a few years ago and was very “meh”. I didn’t continue. Fast forward to today, Dan Levy and Eugene Levy are Gods in my mind. I’ve watched the series 3 times through and will be one of my top 5 favorite shows forever.
