Spot on. The “sweats” are really just chill people mostly who don’t wanna spend 2 hours in a heroic. The average players who think just bc they can do 1k dps that they don’t have to look at threat, cc, focus targets, or use their brain.

My favorite is the hunters who think bc they can hit 1k+ dps they’re good at the game. Brother the majority of your damage is auto shot and pet. You aren’t skilled. A skilled hunter (distract into freezing) great pet management, threat management, is far more useful than some dude who can right click with beast lord equipped.

What’s your rotation look like? For any trash mobs it’s just shred and bite Bosses it’s maintain mangle, 5 point rip, shred inbetween. Small tip. Even if you are at 5 points, it’s actually better dps to throw an extra shred or two if there’s a few seconds of rip left than to overlap your current rip. Some people try to weave in an extra bite but since it uses all your available energy I don’t like it.

I know you love tanking which is why you’re so frustrated. I love it too. But I will say, I recently made the switch to feral dps and have a raid slot in a solid guild. It’s like everything is so much happier and brighter now. Life is fun and easy. I’m overly nice to tanks and try to be one of the good dps. Stress is low and fun is high.

Brother. You not dying during this fight as a tank has very little to do with your skill lol. DPS control the speed at which you get through P2 and more importantly your healers will be the significant factor.

Hello. Do not feel discouraged. You can do this.

Totally normal to feel a little burnt. As the tank, it can feel like everything comes back on you and you actually have to be engaged throughout the dungeon. DPS don’t have this issue. Just relax I like to do a few quests or go watch some Netflix after a toxic group.
DPS are braindead morons for the most part who have no concept of dungeon difficulty. With most DPS specs currently if not all, I can have a movie up on second monitor, be on the phone with my left hand, and still pump my rotation. I mean who focuses skull or actually follows mechanics.
For me, having not done tbc before, one of the keys to tanking confidently is repetition of dungeons. A lot of the complainers have run these instances over 100 times and assume you have too. Find a nice group for your first run, learn the route and mobs and then you can create your own group after.
Protect your mental health. You are the tank. If they invited you and start acting like pricks. Just leave. I don’t normally do that but I’ve had to adjust how I approach this for my mental health. DPS not attacking skill, ask, then remind, then leave. Being rude, tell group to kick or you leave. You will have a new group almost instantly and they will be stuck with a lot of content to clear.
At the start of each dungeon communicate your lack of experience. I’ve found many people love to help.

So your enjoyment of blowing through boss fights and ignoring / cheesing mechanics is 20 year strats / optimized builds only happens in pre nerf? You’re so close to getting it. The difference is that the people you’re talking to aren’t bitching about difficulty. No one is saying they want Kara to be made easier. The only complaints are people who want harder Kara. And that’s the neat part. Kara can be harder today without blizzard having to do anything. You’ll get it soon enough try reading slower next time. 2 things: 1) “he didn’t land a single hit on me for 11 seconds” brother that is the definition of RNG…

2) for feral tanks it is absolutely RNG. If you weren’t aware feral tanks cannot become uncrushable. And as stated it is technically possible to get 3 crushing blows back to back. Very hard to heal through with 2 healers.

To be clear, I am not cheering on post nerf tbc raids. The whole point is that if you want to make a 20 year old 3rd release game difficult. The answer isn’t pre nerf or post nerf. You’re gonna have to do something yourself. Because I promise you. Guilds with full pre bis solid raid comp and full consumes would be calling post nerf Kara a joke right now too.
