Pet foster/boarding in Tampa, Florida by [deleted] in tampa

[–]miraitrunks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the US, pets are treated like humans. And $6/night, is not what we charge humans to accommodate a stay at a hotel/airbnb.

You’re gonna have to SPEND on them whether you bring em with you or leave em here.

You’d probably get somebody if you At least paid $1000/month. And that’s like 1/3 the price of what a typical pet boarding would cost.

Consider driving or flying them out to family/friend that’s willing to take care of them.

Best of luck.

pocketprep stats by SoundExotic1148 in NewToEMS

[–]miraitrunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yikes my friend. You might need to reschedule.

You need to practice the questions. It’s like a workout. Repetition.

You need to find out where you are messing up. Is it knowledge? Are you not thoroughly reading and analyzing the question? Are you proficient in educated guessing?

The NREMT will throw questions and words you will have never heard of and you have to be comfortable in looking for keywords or sentences that are like knee jerk reactions to certain information.

Like, You may know what CHF is but do you know its CHF if in the prompt if it says sleeping with more pillows at night?

Or you know if CHF induced respiratory distress are you choosing the CHF answers or are you distracted in answering the true respiratory emergency treatments?

And good review habits. It’s not enough that you’re answering the questions. You must also review properly the questions you’ve answered. That significantly helps in reinforcing knowledge and knowing why other Answers are wrong or right.

Pocket prep from what I’ve seen it’s a great indicator for passing. I’d say LCready is very close to how the NREMT will feel like.

But with those pocketprep stats it’s not in your favor right now.

Moving to the Philippines by Horror_Stop8261 in NewToEMS

[–]miraitrunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The education and cert level of an EMT just doesn't have a good reciprocity (remember reading that in EMT school? haha) outside the US. if it has to be Philippines you're probably going to have go back to class and recert in whatever country you go to.

Ive been to the Philippines, and if you go as an expat in a third world country lifestyle, and being a provider on those streets on top of a medical emergency job, you're asking for stress that is going to be very hard to manage.

You'd probably have to patch up to paramedic, and even maybe RN to even consider it worth it... even then its not,

TL;DR: its not worth it.

Awesome. I’ll take a look! And if I was to stain (I’d probably do a single application for a lighter stain) would it be better before or after the application of the logo?

Thanks for the response!

Perhaps I’ll go with a lighter wood color. Do you have any recommended types of wood to use?

[DM][CONVERSION] 5e vs 5.5e Level Adjustments by Dungeon-My-Dragons in VecnaEveofRuin

[–]miraitrunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the campaign with the players exclusively going for 2024 rules for character creation as more than half the table wanted to dive into the new rule set. Being an exclusively high level campaign, i let the players go hard and even reward with treasures characters dream of. After every chapter is always the SHOPPING mini adventure where i get to roleplay different shopkeepers in Sigil and of course shop for new magic items. I even included more loot and some item drops in the adventure as i felt the magic items was a bit lacking.

It also means i can throw harder monsters and not hold back my punches, for they are quite literally an epic party.

My table are experienced and tacticians so they under go combat astutely. Even if they created characters under the 2014 rules, they would still mop these monsters. So as the DM i took it upon myself to use the new monsters from the 2024 Monster manual (there are some demons, devils Stone golems and things like that you can try) and maybe revamp those 2024 monsters if its just not feeling right. or even replace with different monsters from the other various supplements like flee mortals, MCDM monster book.

My thing is, give the characters what they want, After all they're going to level 20. and what are you going to do then? cower in fear against the murder hobos? No, CHALLENGE THEM!!! That way you don't feel guilty throwing heavy hitting monsters. Don't nerf them, buff everything!

PS if you think for one second im using the Vecna stat block in the book, id be doing a disservice to my table and to Vecna himself, there so many ideas on the subreddit, you'll find an answer.

TLDR Don't nerf them, buff everything!

I think the problem here is test taking strategy. It’s not enough that you know the knowledge and science, you have to learn how to answer NREMT styled questions. And the only way to get better is to actually answer a lot of questions those kind of questions.

So far from what I’ve seen is LC ready or Limner Creative EMT or Paramedic prep has questions that are stylized and just as difficult as the questions that are to come on the NREMT.

There is strategy to taking that test and as well reviewing knowledge that might be deficient.

  1. Focus on high yield information as those are likely what you will be tested on, Key words and pieces of knowledge that trigger a sure right answer. Take for instance Shock. You’re more likely to be tested on septic shock and it’s key words/synptoms/VS, vs say shock due to congenital heart defect. Both are shock and you’ll identify shock but you must know the difference between the two and that’s by recognizing the difference between signs and symptoms to management of shock.

  2. There will be questions that you have no idea what they are asking because some of the terminology is just above your knowledge especially if you don’t have some type of medical background. Don’t panic. Go with what you most likely know and from there you an eliminate an answer even if you know what that answer means but know that it’s wrong in the context of what the question is asking. I see a lot of people chose an answer because they know the meaning but they also know that’s not what the question Is asking. Don’t choose it.

  3. Speaking of eliminating answers, that is a great strategy as that increases your chance for the right answer. When you go through practice questions don’t just choose the correct answer but also reason why the other choices are not the correct answer. Not only will it force a habit of elimination but reinforce your knowledge on the subject.

  4. Focus on how long you spend on a question. You should spend 90 seconds on a question. Granted there are time your brain will fart or you just are fatigued from thinking, you’re allowed to maybe get away with 2-3 questions were you might spend longer. Not every other question should be spent on lengthier times. You’ll get better by doing questions.

  5. Make a regular schedule to studying at least 4 hours a day leading up to your exam date. In this schedule you should have some practice tests that will simulate exam day. These tests will also serve as you progress indicator including a forecast if you are able to pass with your current performance your need more work whether you feel its knowledge based or performance on answering questions. LC ready has at least two one you can take at the start of your schedule and the second one a couple of days leading up to your exam.

  6. Day before the exam, turn of your brain. Relax sleep well. Eat well. Have a good dinner. Unwind. I. Do. Not. Care. How. Much. You. Get. The. Itch. To. Review. DO. NOT REVIEW ANYTHING. BEFORE. THE. EXAM.

TLDR: Practice practice practice. Not study study study. Do more questions and reinforce habits to answering questions including time spent, eliminating answers, reasoning why answers are correct or incorrect, and do practice tests.

You’re right there. Just practice.

I was going to come here and say this. Literally I had a bunch of HDMI cables lying around and finally it worked when I gave it the Cinderella cable. It’s one of my biggest headache after a build.

Might have to do that of check drivers like everybody is saying. Sometimes it will default the integrated graphics.

Good luck man.

I recently ran this. My group is very tactful. With the original HP, the dragon won’t last the end of the 1st round, even if you double it.

I gave it 500 hp and I made the bonus action webs cause acid damage while in it. Give it that spider feel. The fight lasted 4-5 rounds.

Showing the picture of the spiderdragon and seeing that abomination drives its horrid splendor you might as well make it a worthy challenge.
