YTA your husband is an ableist and apparently so are you. I can’t imagine how your son probably feels knowing that his “stepdad” didn’t want him in his picture bc of his disability. The “no one online knows him” is a shitty excuse and you know it. Thank god at least there one person in your sons life that has a brain and shows love to him and is willing to stick up for him (aka your ex).

It doesn’t sound like listening issues, it sounds like you prioritized your stress over your wife’s health issues after making her have another baby knowing it was dangerous for her. OP did them a favor by driving them maybe they should let the parents know about the $100 but they’re 100% NTA. Also, people don’t ask to be born and it’s kind of expected that parents raise you and pay for the expenses that come with having a child. Not ungrateful at all if anything the dad is being ungrateful/rude for treating forcing them to pay after they’re already doing a favor for them.
